Broadway Market, located in the heart of Fells Point, is one of the first public markets in Baltimore, dating back to 1786. One of six remaining public markets left in Baltimore, the markets were once the city’s major source of food for the growing city. In the early days the market yards were equipped with stalls, barns and a weighing platform to accommodate the livestock the farmers brought into town to sell. On market days farmers came to Fell’s Point by wagon, boat, and ferry from nearby counties seeking an outlet for their products. Broadway Market, the oldest of the existing markets in Baltimore, has a long tradition of serving the residents of Fell’s Point and Baltimore.

The Robert Long House is a rowhouse in the Fell's Point neighborhood of Baltimore. The house is the oldest known surviving urban residence within the city of Baltimore, built in 1765. It was built as the home of Robert Long, a local Baltimore merchant, and today serves as the home of the Fells Point Preservation Society, who saved it from demolition in 1969 by purchasing it and restoring it.

Definitely do this tour if you love Food Tours

We've taken many walking food tours, and this one was stellar. Who knew so many amazing places could be found in such a small area of Fells Point? Our guide (Janice? I'm horrible with names) was great and an ardent ambassador for Baltimore, a city she obviously loves, defends, and promotes. Each stop had an amazing selection of items, most of them truly original and excellent. I know I'd visit some of those restaurants if I lived close to Fells Point. We've taken food tours where you're inundated with food the point of feeling gross, but the pacing and portions on this tour are perfect. You definitely will get your fill, but you won't leave the tour feeling like an ancient Roman looking for a vom....(not sure if that word would be nixed by Viator, lol.) Another plus is the start time, 3:00. You can definitely have your dinner over the 3+ hours while the restaurants are mostly empty before the evening rush. Can't recommend this tour highly enough. Along with the food stops, there are a number of brief stops during the tour where you get great info about the area. Our g

Great tour with generous tastings. Lovely tasting partners. Take away bags would have been appreciated, as well as a non- alcoholic drink with dessert.

Mary really gave us a great tour!

Mary did a great job of explaining the history and culture of Fells Point. She lives in the area and it shows! A dozen people recognized her, she kept referring to the owners of the bars and resturants as friends, and knew the history, both recent and origin. She was a treat to have as our guide.

Baltimore fun - Mary Margaret tour guide

Alot of food and it was delicious. Tour was 3.5 hours and about half of that was walking and standing for historical facts. It was 4 stops but ALOT of food ... be sure to go hungry.

Too much sun

Food was great but our tour guide kept stopping to talk in the hot sun, when there were shaded places she could have stopped.

Great tour with tons of food

This was a great food tour with so much more food than we were expecting! Mary Margaret is interesting and fun. We had a nice walk around Fells Point with fun local and historical facts. And you will leave full so don't worry about making dinner plans afterwards.

Foodie tour of Fells Point

Our guide Mary Margaret (MM) was excellent! She gave us historic tidbits while walking through Fells Point. We visited four eating establishments and had a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood. I really enjoyed the food especially the fried brussel sprouts w/ Maple & bacon, the adult PBJ dessert w/ white Russian, which tasted like churros y chocolate!, the collard green Cesear salad, the smoked trout spread, the meatball w/ ricotta lemon sauce. We were all full by the tour's end; the food portions were enough for a dinner. MM took us through the Penbry hotel (very luxe). She answered our questions & was gracious, gave historic info about the Fell family, the local architecture & neighborhood. I've lived in Baltimore for 20 yrs and learned facts about Fells Point that I didn't know. Very enjoyable tour!

Best tour ever

Mary Margaret was fantastic. We ended up with a very good understanding of the history of Fells Point, the restoration work done from the 80s on and wonderful food selections. We had a tour with 6 other foodies who were very interesting. Had a great time. Everyone in Fells Point knows Mary Margaret and were very pleasant to chat up.
