Peter our tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and delivered the information with great clarity and enthusiasm. Overall, well worth it if you’re in the Cork city or county region. Plan your parking beforehand if arriving by car — options are very limited & expensive. Would suggest getting the earlier boat out and get your ticket stamped to get the later boat back; that way you get the time to have a good walk around the displays and grounds. Also, bring a picnic if the weather forecast is good.

Raymond was an awesome guide! Knowledge and went above and beyond to give us an invaluable experience. Highly recommend!
Well worth a visit if you are in Cobh, or arrive on a cruise ship. It is a short walk from the ship and a short ferry trip over. Euan the tour guide was amazing! I have never seen a tour delivered with so much passion! So informative with all the history of the island. On arrival we did a lovely walk around the top of the island with amazing views of the harbour. I would highly recommend this stop. There is a cafe and toilets on the island. We booked the 11am ferry and the return time is 2.30pm. I would highly recommend!
Paul was a great guide. He brought Irish history to life through the stages of the island’s use over the centuries.
This was dramatic and a little bit creepy. The tour guide was an older gentleman, very interesting and a lovely Cork accent. We had lunch at the cafe on the island and that worked well. I think it's important to remember at the end of the day this was a prison where a lot of people died and there was much suffering. Not saying don't go, I'm just saying it wasn't my favorite part of the trip and I wondered why other people rate it so highly.
We had a good time at Spike Island learning about its history. The only thing I’d change is having the tour at the beginning of the 3.5 hours rather than in the middle of our time there.
This is an excellent tour. We had a wonderful time mainly due to our brillant tour guide Lorraine. She is so informative and passionate about her job with a lovely since of humour. All the staff were so helpful and polite. I would highly recommend this trip. Marie
Fabulous day very interesting. Kevin G was a brilliant guide clearly loves his job which makes the visitor experience amazing.
This is an excellent tour. It's long and comprehensive, and it had something for everyone. You could wander round the exhibits at your own pace, attend interactive exhibits and take a tour. Our guide was passionate and knowledgeable. The price covers the ferry trip, and you get a 3.5 hour trip for that. There are also concessions for seniors. You get the added bonus that the tour starts in Cobh, a very picturesque town to walk around, either before or after you take your ferry. One small recommendation: tickets need to mention the time of the return ferry. We only found that out when the guide told us.
Very interesting trip. Plenty to see. Many thanks to Kevin H our guide.
