I'll suggest don't stress about seeing the inside of everything, you'll get great views and photos from the outside and don't forget to try a gelato near Piazza Navona.
We appreciated how organized everything was and how they made sure we got back to port right on time. Great experience overall. Would absolutely recommend this if you've only got a day in Rome.
What really stood out was how the tour matched our vibe. When we got excited about Roman food. We felt like we weren't just tourists, but explorers uncovering secrets.
Wear comfortable shoes, you can expect walk quiet a bit. Major landmarks were little crowded but no worries guide will managed the group well.
This guided shore excursion is an ideal choice. From the moment you're picked up at the port in a modern, comfortable vehicle, you're immersed in a seamless, well-paced tour that highlights some of the most iconic landmarks in Rome, all while being guided by a friendly, certified English-speaking tour guide.
Good and professional local guide. Bus is comfortable. Good walking tour in Rome. Lots of walking though.
This is nothing more than a shuttle transfer to Rome with a walking tour guided by a poor English speaker. The information provided by the walking tour guide was interesting but it was very difficult to understand them. The transfer van driver was very dangerous and erratic. Would not recommend this to anyone. You would be better off hiring a safe shuttle driver to bring you to the Vatican and then walk through the city with an online audio guide. Also you must know how hat absolutely no tickets for any of the sights are included in this, regardless of what the description shows.
We regret to hear that your disappointment, let me address all the concerns raised: 1) The center of Rome is mostly pedestrian. Tourist vehicles larger than minivans are not permitted into the city center. For guests with limited walking ability, we strongly recommend booking the semi-private option of this tour, which includes minivan access to the city center. This option is available among the three choices for this tour. 2) Your comment that the information provided by the guide was “interesting but difficult to understand” sounds a bit puzzling to us — was it interesting or difficult to understand? :-) 3) It’s important to keep in mind that most Europeans speak English with various accents — in France, with a French accent, in Italy, with an Italian one, in Greece, their own Greek accent, and so on. However, we generally have no difficulty understanding each other, and, in fact, we rarely receive such feedback, especially from our guests from the UK, who are native English speakers. Occasionally, such complaints come from some U.S. travelers who may not have had much experience traveling abroad and therefore find accented English more challenging — unless it’s a Spanish accent, which is more familiar. 4) By the way, speaking of English, yours doesn't sound native to me. Am I the only one who noticed? :-) 5) Mario is a fully licensed driver with 19 years of experience in the tourism industry. Just because his driving style doesn’t match what people are used to in Arkansas doesn’t mean he was "very dangerous and erratic." Have you ever driven in the EU? 6) Regarding admission — all those who understand written English, please note that the tour description — specifically the "What's Included" section — does not mention any admission fees. Additionally, the "Additional Info" section clearly states: "Please note that due to the limited timeframe available during cruise stops, passengers will not have time to explore interiors. If you wish to do so, we recommend returning by air for a stay longer than one day." Long story short, we recommend continuing to book through Viator and to keep exploring outside the U.S. — it’s the best way to gain even more amazing experiences. Wishing you safe and happy travels!
Four besties, a day in Rome, and zero stress thanks to this amazing tour from Civitavecchia that's the headline! Seriously, we were all buzzing about seeing Rome, but the thought of navigating it from the port felt a bit overwhelming.
We both want to thank our guide who help us to make our day special not only by visiting different landmarks but also It was a unique experience that we gain so much knowledge throughout the day.
