Evening Wildlife Safari Stockholm

I would like to say a huge thank you to Julia who was my guide for the Moose and Wildlife Safari a couple of weeks ago! This experience was really worthwhile and definitely made the Stockholm section of my trip. 

Julia took us to a lovely area in the forest and got us practicing our campfire skills before we ate a delicious and filling dinner. Then, we had a 2-hour walk in the national park, where Julia’s enthusiasm for nature shone through as she stopped us to explain various features of the Swedish landscape, such as plants, geology and signs of animal presence. She answered everybody’s questions with ease and passion. We then stopped at a beautiful spot where she surprised us with fika! After the walk, we went on a night drive to try and spot some wildlife. We were successful with sightings of roe and fallow deer, hares and also a moose! It was quite far in the distance but it was still awesome to see. I recommend wearing hiking boots and go without wildlife expectations - moose sightings are not guaranteed, but we were lucky. We were provided with binoculars so you don’t need to bring your own, and your clothes will have a whiff of campfire afterwards (which I love!). It’s a great excursion and I would definitely do it again next time I’m in Stockholm!

It was such a fulfilling trip! Our guide, Julian, took us to explore the forest, where we learned a lot of practical survival skills as well as insightful knowledge about glaciers, landforms, and climate change

We did a Moose & wildlife safari and saw several species of deer, hares, fox and just when I was sure we weren’t going to see one- a Moose! Julie was very knowledgeable and we certainly learned a great deal about the forest, trees and wildlife. Considering her age her depth of knowledge was very impressive. She was also very pleasant and spoke clearly. The campfire dinner was super and although I did not have a go, learning how to start a fire with a fire stick was interesting. I cannot walk too far but hike was completely manageable . Great group and great trip.🙂

A "nice and short walk within the woods" It should be the real name of this experience. The only chance you have to see the wildlife Is during the car trip from their office to the forest. And for luck it's quite common to see at least deers. Then It Is Just a 5 mins walking within the woods to the camp, 15 mins firecamp and dinner, 20 mins walking in circle to see a small lake and back. So It has nothing to do with safari, it's not even a hiking. It's Just a walk, the forest Is of course gourgeous, so you can enjoy It anyway, but do not expect nothing more than this. Not worth it for the price

A wonderful and enriching experience: after a beautiful evening around a campfire, having dinner and meeting new people, we found ourselves setting out to spot moose and deer. 100% recommended and definitely an experience I would recommend to anyone!

I would recommend 100%. Staff was super nice and I saw lots of animals in wildlife: deers, hares, a crane and a moose.

🌟Spent a wonderful evening in a small group wandering through the Swedish countryside, learning the local plants, animals and fungi. Spotted deer, wild boar, moose and even a buzzard. Photography heaven. - remember a tripod and/or fast glass. Staff were brilliant and very knowledgable, great meal and excellent value for money.

Very knowledgeable guides who gave great insight into local flora & fauna. Worked very hard to try & locate local animals to make for a great guest experience.
