Ascending the southern slope of the volcano, we will cross the lava flow of 1983 and 2002 where we will stop to see up close its destructive effects. We will continue up to an altitude of 2.000 meters, where you can easily visit the Silvestri Craters originated from the eruption of 1892. here you will have the opportunity to walk along the edge of the lower crater, or go to the discovery of the breathtaking panorama that can be enjoyed from the top of the highest crater climbing the slope along an easy path. At guests’ discretion, is possible to go to higher altitudes (2.500 mt or 3.000 mt a.s.l.) by cable car (ticket not included in the price).

Trekking through a natural path that leads to a viewpoint where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of “Valle del Bove”.
The next stop will be Monte Pomiciaro at an altitude of 1463 meters above sea level, the starting point of the trekking through a nature trail that will lead us to the top of Monte Zoccolaro, at an altitude of 1737 meters. Here, from a natural balcony that will give you a breathtaking emotion, you will enjoy the magnificent view of the Valle del Bove and the summit craters.

Not worth it
It is not worth the price. Basically what you get is a private transfer to the base of mount etna where you take the cable car, which is not included in the price. You are also asked to look for the agency that better suits you to take the cable car. If you pay additionally 2 euros to the normal price, you can skip the cue. Then you need to pay additionally for the bus transfers.
The driver was very friendly, drove extremely well and stopped in several places, but he is not a guide.

Amazing experience in an amazing place.
We had a private tour with Guiseppe to Mt. Edna, Castelmola (magical) and Taormina. Guiseppe was wonderful. Passionate about the area and knowledgeable. His driving around the island was top notch (if you know the drivers in this year, then you know this is a big deal) He accompanied up in a few stops but then gave us as much time on our own was we wanted. No time schedule, just want we wanted in each location.
