Description
Day trip to Essaouira, the former Mogador built on a rocky peninsula, with its ramparts in vigil on the ocean, its medina in white and blue tones, its busy port and its long sandy beaches. The history of Essaouira dates back to the 8th century BC. The Phoenicians stopped there on the road of the equator. The real founder of the city was the Alaouite sultan Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, who entrusted the construction to Theodore Cornut, architect and student of Vauban Essaouira is now a nice little fishing port very lively at the arrival of the boats where sardines and crustaceans are sold at the auction. On the docks, fishermen repair the red nets. Enjoy the sardine grilled outdoors in the harbor's small restaurants, then discover the Sqala du Port, a crenellated bastion built to protect the harbor and the city. It consists of two fortified wings behind the Navy gate. Leaving the port Sqala, enter Moulay Hassan square.

Tour to the coast
Great tour, Mustafa was very welcoming and gave a lot of info about his people and the region. He was patient with us and made the journey seem quicker. I loved Essaouira. It was a nice, less hectic break from Marrakesh. Well worth the money.

Musti ribs a tight ship
Great quality and value for money day trip. 3.5 hours in Essaouira is not enough and I wish I'd stayed overnight and taken the bus back the next day.

Day trip to Essaouira with Musti
Great day trip from Marrakesh to Essaouira. We were taken directly from our Riad. Our guide Musti was very friendly, funny and accommodating. The drive did not feel too long. We had two stops for wc/coffee. Free time in Essaouira was also nice and Musti gave plenty recommendations. You wont regret lunch at the port! Overall worth taking the trip.

Day trip to Essaouira
Good experience, Musti is a good guide. Time goes by very quickly, but with some determination and not too much swimming, it is possible to visit all the points of interest in the city. Good atmosphere on the trip. Nevertheless, I am modifying my review after the fact because our guide went to each person to ensure they would give a review that would necessarily be positive, as he stays nearby to watch over your good rating. I felt oppressed, like many people in the minibus who were unhappy with the approach. Furthermore, even if the trip went well, we did not always feel reassured regarding the driver's driving, many head-on encounters in the opposite lane when passing. We would have preferred to take more time but feel safer. Despite everything, this experience was positive, but my two points made me lower the overall rating.
