During the 2nd century BC, Ephesus was the fourth largest city in the eastern Roman Empire, famous for its Artemesium, the Library of Celsus and its medical school..
The Temple of Artemis

Temple of Artemision in Ionia at Ephesus in Turkey, became one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It was built in Ephesus on a flat area which has turned into a swamp over the centuries. Today there are only the ruins of this marvelous construction of the Hellenistic Age which was made of marble and sculptured columns. The most beautiful remainings of this temple are exhibited in the London British Museum.
The oldest remaining found dates back to 6th century BC. It was surrounded by 36 huge columns, later enlarged upon the orders of the Lydian King, Kreisos during the 6th Century BC. Most of the exhibits in the London British Museum belong to this period.
The new Artemis temple was built in the 2nd century BC. It was located on top of the previous one and had tremendous dimensions like 121 columns of each 17,5 meters high. Unfortunately this temple was destroyed by fire and reconstructed but then again demolished by earthquakes.

A great tour and excellent value
Had a great day with Bec touring Ephesus and the amazing ruins of the area. What a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and gave us lots of information not just about what we were seeing but also about Türkiye. Fortunately the weather gods smiled on us and it was a near perfect day. After visiting the Home of the Virgin Mary and then a nearly 2 hour walk through the Ancient city we then made a short stop at the temple of Artemis before heading to a delicious lunch. Thank you Bek for making our day so enjoyable.

Thank you Tas for a great time in Ephesus!!
Awesome experience with Tas, both knowledgeable and friendly! It was a cool, more intimate experience where we could ask Tas questions and he even helped give advice for the rest of our trip. We had a fantastic time talking to the other guests and Tas made sure we all had time seeing/doing the activities we all favored. Couldn’t recommend enough when visiting Ephesus, would be hard to get around by yourself.

One-day sightseeing trip to Kusadasi
Excellent experience for a family trip. Everything went perfectly. Our fantastic guide, Bekir, picked us up at the port on time, accompanied us to our very comfortable air-conditioned van, and took us to visit the House of Mary, the splendid Ephesus, and the Temple of Artemis, explaining historical and cultural details in easily understandable English and answering our questions. He then took us to lunch at a place that serves typical Turkish cuisine where we had a great time. Highly recommended experience!

Our guide Nage did a super job of explaining the history and to the extent she could, kept us in the shade. It’s very impressive!
Tour is followed by lunch which conveniently turns into a rug making/sales pitch. I think the rugs were high quality and priced right. But I didn’t select a rug making/sales pitch.

Best guided tour.
Excellent guide Miss Gok Ce. She was very well prepared and pleasent. The only draw back is that we spent to much time at the Carpet Factory. Would highly recommend.
