Itinerary
Undoubtedly the tallest single-drop waterfall in Mauritius at about 100m high, the Chamarel Waterfall is a striking piece of nature standing amid dense vegetation. Travelers will have a front-row view of this wonder of nature and will be able to take pictures from two viewpoints.
The undulating strips of multi-coloured sand that settle in different layers are one of the most photographed and visited sights on the island. They sit in an open clearing whose lower edge is skirted by an endemic plant garden highlighting the natural heritage of Mauritius. Open all year round the Geopark is a must-see attraction for curious minds of all ages. Among other things, there is also a fun Tortoise Park and a Souvenir Shop offering an array of memorabilia, including local products from Chamarel while the Coffee shop is a happy café experience.

Had a really good morning we did not have a guide there was plenty of information on site overall a pleasant experience
We went as a family and the seven coloured sands was at the end, believing it was going to be the climax of a very good day. Being honest, I wasn't over impressed, and the hype around it, made it sound amazing. However, I was expecting spectacular differences between the colours, but, not really. The boards explaining the sands and the tour guide did add the value, but you will visit, but you'll be happier seeing the tortoises that are there, with the entrance fee. As this is a tourist destination, even in winter, there were medium sized crowds. No staff around (at the time we went) to add the value. Maybe they should also consider a one way system to allow better movement through the area. I wouldn't go again. NB. The gift shop is expensive!
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback following your family visit to Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth. We are pleased to know that you appreciated the information provided by our boards and tour guide, as well as the tortoise area. We are, however, sorry to hear that the Seven Coloured Earth did not meet your expectations. The colours and intensity of the earth are naturally influenced by weather, light and other environmental conditions, and we understand that this may differ from what visitors expect based on images and promotional material. We have also taken note of your comments regarding staff presence and visitor circulation. Your suggestion concerning a one-way system is particularly useful, and we will consider it as part of our ongoing efforts to improve the visitor experience. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the pricing at our Gift Shop and will share your comments with the relevant team. Thank you once again for your constructive feedback. While we regret that your visit did not fully meet your expectations, your comments are valuable in helping us improve the overall experience for our visitors. Kind regards, Chamarel Seven Coloured Earth Team
30€ for adults..a photo of the waterfall taken from afar and then dismay 😧 10 turtles, a little 10-minute tour around the 7 colors…uh…that’s it!!!…oh no the bag of coffee 18€🤣😁..to be avoided absolutely !! And if you feel like doing the Ebony Forest, supposedly different from the others, you add 9€ per person please !!! No no no 🙂↔️….rather a good idea to see lots of different plants…go to the Pamplemousses Garden! Magnificent and for 300RS per person, which is between 4 and 5€…very large, very well laid out and full of surprises, bats, huge trees, water lilies, lizards and beautiful flowers! Sorry Chamarel but it really is a tourist trap, like us ☹️😘

We won't even get into the price of plane tickets to Mauritius, so getting ripped off (800 rupees per adult) to visit a strictly natural site is too much! Especially since a few years ago the price was very affordable. All this with the crowds and an overpriced shop with an endless wait. 😡😡😡

Of no real interest, prohibitive price, obvious tourist trap
The price is completely excessive for what it is. 800MUR or approximately 15 euros to see a waterfall from afar and a natural park. Go for a hike instead, it lasts longer, it's just as magnificent and it's free.
We loved our visit to the South! Had booked with the agency SECRETOO . Our guide Ruben was very helpful, knowledgeable. We highly recommend him!
Nice place to visit wonderful place to be reconnectâtes with nature
Its aan amazing place. Nice walking around the earth area. Surrounded by lush green trees endemic. The Giant Tortoise can be seen too
It may have been a slightly gloomy day, but the visit was not that exciting; the park has been modernized with bars and shops with outrageous prices. The lands are quite faded, as seen in the photo
