We were a large family with a huge age range. 8-77 and everywhere in between. It was raining, and I don’t mean misting, I mean RAINING. We still had the most amazing experience thanks largely to Bianca!!! The entire family thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We saw bears, eagles, starfish, and much more! Book this tour and throw any worries you have about booking out the window. Easily the best thing we did and a huge value for a private tour. Amazing!

Our tour guide was Bianca, and she was absolutely fantastic—friendly, enthusiastic, energetic, and genuinely excited to share Ketchikan with us. We had such a memorable experience. During the tour, we saw a young eagle taking one of its first flights, starfish, fishermen fishing for salmon, bears, and some beautiful scenery. One of the highlights was a short but exciting trek through the forest around a waterfall, which made the experience feel like a real Alaskan adventure. The forest trek was a little challenging in places, but Bianca was wonderful, patiently helping everyone along the way and making sure we all felt comfortable and safe. She was incredibly kind and attentive to everyone in our group. The whole trip felt personal and authentic, and it gave us the opportunity to experience a side of Ketchikan that was a little more off the beaten path. It was truly one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore Ketchikan beyond the typical tourist stops—and if you get Bianca as your guide, you’re in for a treat!

We booked this as the last excursion of our cruise. Our group included 2 kids (1 and 4) and 4 adults ages 30s-60s. Bianca was AMAZING! She interacted so well with our 4 year old, even pulling him away from the boring (in his mind) blacksmith presentation to show him a banana slug she found. She showed us everything we wanted and more, we got to do everything we wanted without feeling rushed and made the most out of a short port day. She also took amazing photos and videos she airdropped to us at the end. Thanks Bianca!!

We did a private tour in Ketchikan with Leanne. She was wonderful, patient and answered all our questions. She also gave great local recommendations. I was originally worried on the meet up, but she made that process very seamless by texting me the day of. We also decided to opt out of the totem pole tour, so we took our time at all the other spots. We were able to see bears, seals, birds and eagles! We couldn’t have asked for a better tour with Leanne. Thanks, Leanne! Hope to meet again in the future.

Bianca was absolutely incredible, she tailored the tour to fit our groups desired experience and we saw such incredible scenery and wildlife! Because of Bianca and Emerald Forest Tours this experience was the highlight of our Alaska experience! We cannot thank you enough!!

From the very beginning, Bianca was incredibly attentive, patient, and genuinely committed to making our three-hour private tour memorable. She is completely bilingual in English and Spanish, which was a huge plus for us and made the experience even more enjoyable. Bianca knew exactly where to take us to maximize our chances of seeing local wildlife. Thanks to her knowledge of the area, we had the opportunity to spot bald eagles, black bears, salmon, and other local wildlife, while also learning about Ketchikan and its beautiful surroundings. What made the experience even more special was Bianca herself. She was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and never made us feel rushed. She also took the time to take photos and videos of us throughout the tour and later surprised us by sharing them with us—a wonderful and very thoughtful touch! The three hours absolutely flew by. It felt like spending the afternoon exploring Ketchikan with a knowledgeable local friend rather than simply being on a tour. If you are visiting Ketchikan and booking with Emerald Tours, we highly recommend asking for Bianca. She truly went above and beyond and made our visit to Ketchikan one of the highlights of our trip. It was an interesting tour where we have seen a lot of animals like crabs, bald eagles, dear and Steller's jay blue bird. And of course a lot of salmon in the stream. Unfortunately, our main interest was in bears, but we were unlucky to spot them. Our guide drove us twice to the bear's spotting place and other tourists have mentioned that the bear was there just 10 minutes ago. Well, it was somewhat disappointing but expected - you can't count on the wildlife to come on schedule (luckily for us we have seen the bears just few days ago near mount Rainier). Nevertheless the tour was very interesting for adults, teenagers and kid. We were shown to a few places outside of the main touristic routes where we could privately enjoy Alaskan nature. Our guide has even took us on the short hike through the wild forest up to the waterfall top. If anything, those 3 hours flew by too fast. And the price for the whole family is comparable to what we would have paid per person for the standard less entertaining tour. So overall, we have enjoyed the experience and thank you to our guide.

What an awesome tour! Bianca is one of the very best guides you could ever have! Her love and passion for Ketchikan made the experience perfect! Even though we were just missing seeing bears earlier in the tour, up until the end of the tour, she was on the watch to make sure we saw them! A mother and 2 cubs! And the mom catching salmon for her cubs! We even saw a whale breach several times at one stop and enjoyed our time at the old saw mill, the waterfall, and purchasing local smoked salmon. She kindly took pictures with care to get the best shots of us and the wildlife. We take a lot of tours during our travels and she made this tour one of the best! Her personality, friendliness, and true desire to make your memories great shined through. Thank you, Bianca!

It was a magnificent activity, one of the best of our Alaska cruise. Our driver is from Ketchikan and knows everyone. We saw a bear hunting salmon. It is essential.
