Description
Start by meeting your guide at the entrance to Advocates Close. From there, you’ll follow in the footsteps of royalty (and even pirates) as you enter Edinburgh Castle.
As you discover the castle grounds, hear stories about how this fortress was once the residence for Mary, Queen of Scots, and a prison during the Napoleonic Wars. Take a snap of the six-tonnes Mons Meg (a medieval cannon), and admire the Royal Palace.
Afterwards, explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site at your own pace, and step inside St Margaret's Chapel, Scottish National War Memorial and more.

Interesting and fun guide and castle
Our guide was James Steward. A man with a lot of knowledge and knows how to convey it in a fun, clear way. The guided tour lasted a little over an hour and after that you can walk through the castle yourself.

Disheartening
The site said that you were booked or full for tickets for Sunday. We made a ticket reservation for Monday. When we got there our tickets said Sunday so we missed it. We tried to get our money back and have not heard anything yet. Our guide tried to help but was unable.
