An excellent and truly underrated trail. The trail goes through the forest and reaches amazing viewpoints. Along the way, there is a local guide who is very interesting and informative about Mauritius in general, and the reserve, its plants and animals in particular. Highly recommended!

We loved our visit to Ebony Forest! The museum was very interesting and the hike was well marked and very pleasant. We were able to learn more thanks to the short explanatory tour with Damien, he explained the process of saving tree species in the reserve to us and we also saw endemic birds. Not to mention the magnificent panoramic view of Le Morne! And the superb souvenir shop.
It is very dreamily beautiful and highly recommended
Super project. We did the self-guided hike (no prior registration necessary). A 30-minute guided tour was included. Our guide Anaelle told us many interesting things about the animals, plants, and the history of Mauritius on this tour. She did it absolutely wonderfully, humorously, and excitingly. We can really recommend the tour with her and a visit to the Ebony Forest Reserve to everyone.
Not worth the 600 bucks per head. Just a jungle path walk. Two tortoise creeping along the path. Waste of time
We thank you for your review. Our reserve is a private reserve where all the tickets contribute to the restoration of the forest. We are the only place over the main land where tortoises walk freely in the forest. It is sad that you did not understand the work being carried out on site to preserve the remnant endemic forest of our island.
The place is wonderful. Its the perfect spot to unwind and reconnect with nature. You get to see tortoises along the walk and different kind of birds. The path was easy to follow. Shoutout to Damien from the snack shop who was super helpful and very welcoming. We couldn’t help but notice that they dont take our contact details at the reception area while coming which i think is important should anything happen. And there is no security if ever you go beyond 17hrs as the place closes down and there is no system in place to ensure everyone has gotten down safety. Thats the one thing i believe they should improve on. Otherwise we had a great experience
We thank you for your review and contribution to our project. We do have a zoning system with emergency numbers on the trails. This helps us to quickly intervene if there are any issues.
Today we have a wonderful time at ebony forest. We choose take a ride. Our guide Anael was very kind and very informative. And the driver Sham driving very carefully, taking care of the turtles on the road. At the top there is an amaizing scenic. So overall its worth it. Thank you Ebony team!
Thanks to Brice who made us passionate about the route and his explanations. The 4x4 tour is great and the final viewpoint is truly sublime
Too bad the welcome upon arriving at the viewpoint/snack bar was pathetic. A young man didn't even bother to return our greeting. Eyes glued to his phone. So we didn't buy anything. Furthermore, at the footbridge, the guides smoke and listen to amplified music, which ruins the "preserved forest" atmosphere.
Bonjour on vous remercie de votre revu, veuillez nous partager la date de votre visite sur email:bookings@ebonyforest.com. On fera un suivi car fumer en forêt est strictement interdit et contre nos règles.
The experience at the Ebony Forest was really good, Loic our guide was very informative and fun at the same time. They are doing such good conservation work and get very little support financially. I hope people keep visiting as it was a great place.
We thank you for your visit and contribution to our project.
