Located in Gros, this lively local square will be your first glimpse of everyday life in San Sebastián. Framed by the Church of San Ignacio, bars, and shops, families gather here, just steps from our nearby first tasting stop.
Step into a welcoming family-run bar devoted to traditional Basque flavors. Savor their signature pintxo: grilled mushrooms with rich foie gras and creamy alioli on crusty bread, perfectly paired with a refreshing zurito, the locals’ favorite small draft beer.
Discover a charming neighborhood wine shop in the heart of Gros, known for its local organic wines and beers. Here, enjoy a refreshing non-alcoholic mosto spritzer, build your own Gilda, and taste Gazta Zaharra, a tangy shepherds’ cheese made from leftover Idiazabal chese.
Between the Hotel Maria Cristina and Teatro Victoria Eugenia, discover San Sebastián’s Belle Époque legacy. Nearby, spot the Kursaal and Zurriola Bridge, linking Gros to downtown with river views and surfers heading out to the waves.

Set on the iconic 31 de Agosto Street, one of the oldest streets in San Sebastián, this stop brings you to a beloved local bar that feels like a doorway into the city’s past. Bernardo, its 70-year-old owner, greets visitors with a warm smile and a lifetime of devotion to Basque cuisine. Here you’ll enjoy a special off-the-menu tasting of tender grilled squid with potatoes pintxo, beautifully paired with a glass of Txakoli, a dry white wine from the Basque coast.
Get ready for an authentic Basque cider house experience in the Old Town. You'll taste juicy txuleta steak with salted padrón peppers and catch cider poured straight from the barrel in the traditional txotx ritual!
For a sweet finale, we'll visit the city's oldest pastry shop, open since 1886. Here, you'll taste the original recipe of the iconic pantxineta: a flaky puff pastry filled with rich pastry cream and toasted almonds. You'll take it to go and savor it on the boulevard as the perfect end to your tour.

Great experience with Ines Recommending it to my clients that will be visiting San Sebastián
Great introduction to the city while trying some tasty pintxos! Kristina was a lovely guide- informative and kind. The best courses were the first (mushrooms with the most amazing sauce) and the last (a traditional Basque dessert).
Our guide Christina was fabulous. She took us to places we wouldn't have found with out her. We were VERY well fed, and we got a really great variety of pinxos. And, she recommended some places (not on the tour) that had the best food items we were searching for, and she wasn't wrong with her suggestions. And, we were well fed, we certainly were not hungry after the tour! it was a really well organized tour, ending with desert on the coast with the sunset. We loved it, we'd highly recommend it.

We had such a wonderful food tour with Ines! She was incredibly friendly, warm, and approachable, and made us feel comfortable right away. We especially loved that she took us to authentic, non-touristy spots that we probably never would have discovered on our own. It wasn’t just about the amazing food. We had such a wonderful food tour with Ines! She was incredibly friendly, warm, and approachable, and the small, intimate group made the whole experience feel more like hanging out with friends than being on a tour. She took us to some fantastic authentic, non-touristy spots we never would have found on our own and introduced us to so much of the local Basque culture along the way. We had a wonderful Sunday morning in San Sebastian with Ines. This is a great way to experience the local Basque food culture of pintxos bar-hopping. It's ideally done early on in your holiday to give you time to explore the amazing food on offer and give you a bit of confidence if your Basque and/or Spanish isn't up to ordering. The tour is thoughtfully set out to sample great food paired with drinks from the area, whilst seeing a significant amount of San Sebastian. Beyond the food we learned about the town's history, culture and were taught some Basque. Thank you Ines, quite early on we forget you were our guide and it was like visiting a friend who knew all the best places to go. Don't hesitate to book.
