East Zion Dark Sky Stargazing Tour
Description
See the Utah Milky Way for the first time. Our knowledgeable guides will help you learn about constellations as you gaze at the crystal-clear night sky. After being taught you also have the opportunity to see the stars through our powerful telescope. Many groups get to witness a shooting star as a bonus! Note: this tour requires a short 5-10 minute walk up a soft dirt path, with slight incline. If unable to complete this walk, please contact us ahead of time so we can plan to transport you to the top. In fall and winter months, be prepared for cold weather! Make sure you bring hats, gloves, coats, etc. to keep you warm while you enjoy the tour.

Zion National Park is a dark sky area, allowing for an incredible stargazing experience. This tour takes place just outside the eastern border of the national park, elevated above the surrounding communities.

This was a huge hit with our family, including two teenagers (13,15). The stars were unbelievable! Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, tailoring her presentation to our interests and fielding our questions. The hot chocolate and cider and blankets were a nice touch. This tour is well worth your time.

We booked 3 activities with EZA: Red Hollow trail ride, SWAT shooting and Stargazing. The stargazing heads out from the Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort. There were about 30 people including many little kids. We walked for 5 minutes to the viewing spot where they had blankets, chairs, hot drinks and a telescope. Our guide was informative and engaging. We saw at least a half dozen shooting stars and the Milky Way.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re really sorry you didn’t get to experience the tour. We completely understand how frustrating that must have been, especially when conditions seemed clear. For stargazing, we make cancellation decisions based on a combination of factors beyond just visible cloud cover, including foretasted conditions, visibility quality, wind, and overall guest experience. Sometimes conditions can change quickly or appear better at ground level than they are for optimal viewing. That said, we truly appreciate you sharing your experience, and we’d love the opportunity to have you join us on a future night for the full experience.
Last night, we took the stargazing tour and it was amazing! Oliver was attentive and answered all of our questions. I loved the way he explained the stars to us & its apparent about how passionate he is about it, it really makes you want to listen! Such a fun night to hang and talk with other people and learn about some stars. Not only that, but he took the time to take some pictures of us as well! He was so fun to talk to about any questions we had. Oliver rocks!!!! He really made the experience for us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a very good star gazing tour with east Zion Adventures. Oliver our guide made it a very good tour by telling a lot about the constellations, respond to individual questions and his story was easy to follow for us as non Americans (Dutch Familie)

SOOOO recommend stargazing Hon explained perfectly gave so much detail and interaction with us was amazing shared laughs, jokes, and zodiac signs ! Had so much fun worth every penny Came down from Vegas and enjoyed watching the stars Thank you Hon and his brother so much fun !!

My boyfriend and I originally booked the stargazing tour, but he privately called and made it a private stargazing tour so that he could propose under the stars! Oliver (tour guide) and Steve (photographer) were the absolute best! They played along and helped my ,now fiance, plan the best night ever. I cannot say enough good things about Oliver. Even though it was cloudy, he did his best to ensure we had a night.

The tour guides were great, for blankets and chairs (needed as it is a cement slab you are on), received hot chocolate or cider packets with warm water. The walk up to the area was a little longer than expected for some of our family but overall good experience

Do this. Don’t hesitate. What a perfectly curated experience. Tucked in under the stars, you see it all. And the shooting stars are everywhere. Our guide was the best part. He gave us a tour of the night sky. He had storytelling and history and science packaged into a performance. My only complaint is I wish it was longer. I could have stayed for two hours listening to him and staring at the night sky.
