Yes book with this tour guide! Our host knew the area intrinsically. We ate at 5 distinctly different restaurants and he had dozens more recommendations. We also received the history of the buildings, the culture, and the people of East village.
Krikor is a really authentic guide and I loved the tour and the stops he chose. This was great to do on my first day in the East village. He even gave out a list of reccommendatins at the end. Will book more of his tours again.
My mom and I had the best time on this tour. Not only did we learn so much about food, we learned the rich history of the east village and all the artists and chefs that have inhabited this area. Krikor was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, and friendly. The food was wonderful and the perfect variety including Ukrainian, Japanese, Mexican, and Mediterranean cuisines. Next time I’m in NYC, I’ll most definitely take another one of his tours.
Krikor's super-delicious, expertly-curated food choices and his engaging mix of history and personal stories made for a wonderful tour! HIGHLY recommend!
Krikor our guide was personable organized and intelligent. He chose great food stops and shared stories and photos of the area. My photos wouldn’t load but be assured the food was marvelous and plenty. This tour is a must.
Loved meeting Krikor and experiencing this tour! I never knew much about this neighborhood and really enjoyed learning the history of it and its influence on today’s culture. Krikor is a fantastic storyteller and easy to engage with. The tour moves at a great pace, and there are many interesting sights to see along the way. My husband and I have taken food tours all over the world. We really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend it to friends.
The tour guide was wonderful and patient. He presented the changing history of the neighborhood and the many cultures that have impacted the area and food scene. This tour featured a diverse amount of foods, which is why I choose this tour. It was nice learning about the restaurant owners and how their business started. My family and I enjoyed all of the food choices on this tour. The portion sizes are adequate and there is time to digest between the stops. Ending with dessert is always a great touch. Had a blast and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
What a fantastic tour. Varied and amazing food options and Krikor had insightful commentary, a great knowledge of history and culture and affable too. I thoroughly recommend this tour - one of the best I’ve experienced.
We've been to New York City many times, but never had the opportunity to explore the East Village. We appreciated learning not just about the amazing foods available - Ukranian, Middle Eastern Eastern, and Japanese, to name a few - but also the history and culture of this quirky neighborhood. With over 400 restaurants to choose from, we'll need to come back again, but Kricor helped us fall in love with the area. The falafel we sampled was the best we've ever had. Thanks so much for a fascinating and delicious tour!
Our guide Krikor was great! He has a very personal connection to the area and gave us historical perspectives that we would never have known otherwise. The food we tried was varied and delicious, and we gained a better understanding of the cultures they came from and the background of the restaurants. We especially liked the piroshkis at the Ukrainian restaurant and peeking in the Irish pub with its wonderful original decor from its very early days. Krikor also gave us a very informative cheat sheet for the area at the end of the tour. It was all well worth the very reasonable price!
