E-Bike Stellenbosch to Franschhoek
Description
This adventurous E-Bike tour takes you through some of the best Winelands scenery in South Africa. We cycle from Stellenbosch to Franschhoek. Meet local people and taste some of the great cuisine this region has to offer. After lunch, wine tasting and cellar tour our vehicle will take us back to Stellenbosch. NB. Riders need to have intermediate mountain biking skills to do the tour and a general fitness level is required. Activity level 3/5

Itinerary
Pass through the University grounds and Dormitories.
Cycle through the Idasvallei Nature Area connecting to the old Helshoogte Pass that was used by the Dutch settlers.
Cycle past some wine estates in the Banhoek valley
Halfway stop at Boschendal and water break. Clients welcome to enjoy a quick coffee here before we depart.
End of Cycle Tour, here we enjoy a light lunch and wine tasting. After lunch we head back to the office by vehicle.

Bit boring , just main road and often bad off road ways. But our guides were great!!
Hallo Christina, vielen Dank für die Bewertung. Schön, dass du mit den Guides zufrieden warst, schade aber, dass dir die Route nicht ganz so gut gefallen hat. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, was du mit „nur Hauptstraßen und schlechtes Gelände“ meinst. Um aus der Stadt rauszukommen, fahren wir neben Straßen und auf Radwegen, bevor wir ins Idas-Tal gelangen. Dort gibt es kurze Abschnitte mit schmalen Wegen, aber größtenteils ist es eine breitere Schotterstraße. Die meisten Leute genießen die Strecke bis nach Boschendal sehr. Von Boschendal aus sind es etwa 4 km entlang einer asphaltierten Straße, bevor es wieder auf Schotterwegen durch Weinberge und ein wunderschönes Tal bis nach Franschhoek geht. Allerdings gab es letzte Woche in Franschhoek große Buschbrände, weshalb die Route etwas angepasst werden musste. Ich weiß nicht, wann Sie Ihre Tour gemacht haben, aber falls Sie letzte Woche unterwegs waren, könnte dies Ihre Route beeinflusst haben!
It’s now clear why South Africa is the MTB Capital of the World. This epic E-bike ride from Stellenbosch to Franschhoek is absolutely fantastic; and this is mainly the result of a great & enthusiastic & knowledgeable tour guide like Sevo (he could have been a history Professor at Stellenbosch University 😉) and the support of Jody who is in the support-vehicle. We had the most incredible trip and all agreed that it was a memory we would never forget. Sevo was an incredible guide and he handled our various fitness levels and skills levels with ease. We will definitely do this again and are even considering the longer 4 day trips. The ride was amazing and the lunch and wine tasting absolutely incredible. Love love loved it!!!!!
