I did this tour 10 years ago and was excited to get to take my husband on it. Overall, the building and whiskey is great but tour itself has gone a bit downhill. Our tour guide 10/10. The rest? Overly reliant on technology now. You no longer get to walk through the sections of the building and talk of the history as much, though I did appreciate learning more about how the different wars affected whiskey trade as a whole. The shots during the tasting were smaller. And it now ends at a gift shop instead of the upstairs restaurant with a view. We like to do distillery tours during our travels and my husband was less than impressed by this one. I gave it a 4 because of our tour guide and the nostalgia. Will be back just for the bar though and probably won’t encourage others to go the tour again at that price.
Wonderful experience! Our guide Neill was brilliant. The whole experience is very well done, very good rooms which support the history of the brewery and the process with great illustrations and good atmosphere, and at the heart of it all a guide who was very good at connecting with the group, and providing just the right mix of fun, jokes and interesting information.
Our guide, Niamh, was wonderful. She took the time to greet everyone in the tour group, find out where they are from and make a personal connection with each. She asked each person about their experience with whiskey and made those who didn’t have any previous experience feel welcome. She was incredibly knowledgeable about Jameson and the distillery process. The tasting afterwards was wonderful and I found a whiskey that I didn’t realize I would like. I highly recommended this tour.
Great tour and and Robin, our guide, was very entertaining!
Absolutely fantastic and the tour guide is very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. Our flight was late and they kindly put us on the next tour and were very flexible.
Tour seemed rushed. Had done a tour in Middleton and was quite disappointed in the Dublin experience. The guide talked so fast that you could easily miss information. Tasking was quite basic. Among the least well conducted and developed of any whiskey or wine tasting that I have ever attended. More people in each group than the tables could accommodate. Gave the sense of a cash grab.
We had a great time. The tour and whiskey tastings were wonderful. I'd go again if I make it back to Ireland!
A very informative and interesting tour. The guide was humorous, well informed, and friendly. The audio-visual features were well designed and told the story of Jameson in a memorable manner. Prior to the tasting experience you get the full olfactory experience with examples of the smell of the whiskey and grain. Definitely recommend this tour if you’re interested in learning more about the history of Jameson or interested in the process of making Whiskey.
We will head back in a few minutes the Jameson Distillery tour was very informative about the distillation process and products available. Lorcan, our tour guide, was very personable and projected well. He made the entire experience fun as well as informative!
Even though my sister and I aren’t big whiskey fans, we really enjoyed this tour and tasting. Our guide Niamh was great! It was really interesting to learn more about Jameson. Definitely recommend it as part of a trip to Dublin!
