Dolphin and Whale Sailing Tour in Los Gigantes

​We chose this outing hoping to sail and learn more about whales and dolphins. The experience was nice but mixed. ​The highlights: ​The experience on board: Very pleasant, clean, and well-maintained sailboat. The atmosphere between families was very nice and the snack after the swim was particularly appreciated. ​Observations: Wonderful moment for the teens who loved seeing several small whales and flying fish. (No dolphins, but they are harder to spot) ​Safety on board: First aid kit useful for treating a small injury our son had after the swim. ​Points to improve: ​The "sailing" spirit and the supervision: The sail was only brought out for show, as the trip was done entirely by motor (time too short to tack). The skipper was nice but did not give any safety briefing, did not introduce himself, and gave very few explanations about the animals. ​The snorkeling spot: The swimming area at the foot of the cliffs was choppy and risky in the late afternoon; the risk of being thrown against the reefs when approaching the rocks was real. Our son paid the price. ​In conclusion: a very pleasant outing if you approach it as a simple sea trip with a "whale and dolphin option"!

The boat and captain arrived at the harbour on time and we were straight off. We only had 10 passengers on board but the boat could easily hold 20, so it was nice that they don’t over crowd the boats but instead put passenger enjoyment ahead of profit. We started by going out to sea to spot the dolphins and whales, which we did after a bit of sailing. The driver was very knowledgeable about the animals and gave us information without being overbearing, allowing us to enjoy the spectacle. He also kept his distance from the animals and turned the engines off when we were close - we appreciated this respect of the wildlife. We then headed for the coast to swim in a secluded spot. He provided some snacks and drinks and let us enjoy the time. Overall the tour was the perfect length and we’d recommend it to anyone.

Antonio is really friendly and showed us many dolphins and whales. Drinks served on board accompanied by cold cuts, cheeses, and chips.

An absolutly great experience! Sturdy boat with enough room to sit anywhere. Captain with experience in the industry, which means he'll bring you close to the animals without disturbing them. He's also great fun to be around in generel. 10/10 would book again.

Very nice tour with a nice captain. Pleasant is that this tour really only with small group (we were five adults and four children, or teenagers).

Relaxing outing with Francisco who knows the landscape and is an expert in the water. There is time for quiet observation, learning, and experiencing. We enjoyed close up whale encounters, time at the cliffs, and a special lunch with fellow travelers.

The trip was really successful all around and Francesco was very friendly. We've really seen a lot of whales and turtles. On the small boat with 10 people you could move well and freely, which was very pleasant. The animals had maps with explanations and Francesco told a bit, but not as extensively as we had on other tours. We also had the impression that the boat drove quite close to the whales with the engine throttled. We didn't have that on other trips either. But the animals seemed very relaxed and also came to the boat themselves.
