Cenotes are only found in this part of the world, and this is due to the fact that the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago impacted the Yucatan Peninsula, giving rise to the formation of underground rivers with totally crystal clear water. In addition, the magical world of cenotes offers us to observe incredible ancient formations, such as stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and various speleothems that will make you feel like you are on another planet! Fossilized corals and animals give this experience a unique archaeological setting. The ultraviolet rays of the sun penetrate the entrances of the cave, forming amazing light effects on the water! As if all this were not enough, the Mayans gave this experience a highly mystical and magical context.
