Itinerary
Wonderful example of a square converted in Baroque style, it opens before us like a wing of a theater, on the left the wonderful late 17th century bell tower built by Giuseppe Zimbalo stands out over the square with its majolica dome; in the center the Cathedral with its façade characterized by a balustrade overlooked by the statue of the protector of the city, Sant'Oronzo, and adorned with flowers, angels and lanceolate points, a sublime example of fanzaghesco baroque; the Episcopio with the portico in propylaea, an admirable work by Emanuele Manieri; on the right the Palazzo del Seminario with its rustication and its eclectic baroque, the work of Giuseppe Cino. (Visit outside)
the arena dating back to the first century AD.C. half brought to light at the beginning of the last century, we will admire the imposing architecture of the cavea, the stands, the rampant arches, the balteus, a jewel in the heart of the historic center of Lecce
World masterpiece of Baroque art, its sublime facade is dedicated to the Battle of Lepanto, and represents the ideal triumph of the Christian and Western European world; the sumptuous decorations and the many symbols fascinate the eye and raise the spirituality even today. (Visit outside)
Heart of the city, the ancient Piazza dei Mercadanti of the '700 still finds the signs of its past linked to the influence of the Maritime Republic of Venice, with the Palazzo del Sedile, seat of exhibitions and city assemblies, and with the adjoining church of Saint Mark; the square flanks the ancient Roman Amphitheater, half revealed, a gem set among Baroque, Art Nouveau, Rationalist and Venetian palaces.

Lorenzo was very knowledgeable & enthusiastic with sharing his knowledge of Lecce. We enjoyed the tour immensely. Nice pace, not at all rushed & fun. We were a little late joining the tour but it was no problem. What l liked the most was it was very informative but not with loads of dates & names that you will never remember afterwards!! I would highly recommend you book this tour. Thank you so much for a wonderful morning Lorenzo ❤️ Oh and that Gelato 🍦

This was a great way to understand the architecture and beauty of Lecce! Our guide was very pleasant and kept us in the shade as much as possible. Loved the coffee he treated us to also!
We had a wonderful tour with our guide Lorenzo. He was well informed about the architecture and history of the many churches in the area and his passion for the subject clearly came through. He was very patient and responsive to our groups many question and just a lot of fun to spend time with. I would highly recommend this tour
Lorenzo is a star. He gave insights into the Baroque, Renaissance periods of Lecce's history, architecture, culture and was always considerate to make sure we could all hear his narrative. We also had a mid morning Leecese coffee (with almond milk) and typical Lecce snacks. It was an exceptional experience.
Lorenzo is a local and knew all the cities and introduced us to the famous local pastry. Warm friend and just a passion for his city and knows the art and history.
Lorenzo was fantastic. We learned so much. Highly recommend! Perfect mix of history, art, culture. And a great snack and coffee break.
