The Blue Mosque in Istanbul, also known by its official name, the Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Turkish : Sultan Ahmet Camii), is an Ottoman-era historical imperial mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was constructed between 1609 and 1617 during the rule of Ahmed I and remains a functioning mosque today. It also attracts a large number of tourists and is one of the most iconic and popular monuments of Ottoman architecture.

Suleymaniye Mosque was built on the order of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and constructed by the great Ottoman architect Sinan. The construction work began in 1550 and the mosque was finished in 1557. The mosque is modeled in part on the style of a Byzantine basilica, particularly the Hagia Sophia, which was perhaps a conscious move on the part of the sultan to create a continuity and a symbolic connection with the city's past. The visit in and around the Mosque takes almost 2 hours.

The Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı) in Istanbul is one of the world's most famous shopping destinations and, at 30,700 square meters, the world's biggest enclosed bazaar. Once inside, the Bazaar's 64 streets and smaller alleyways house roughly 4,000 stores and the mosque, post office, cafes, banks, and police station, making it a little central city.

Sultanahmet Square (Hippodrome) is a center for sport activities and ceremonies and it is also famous for the chariot races during the Roman and the Byzantine era.
