Happy gentle activity
A lovely gentle activity set up in a small soba noodle restaurant (during its closed hours). The restaurant is down a flight of steps - something to be aware of if limited mobility. Taku was an engaging host, and the meal of soba and tempura at the end was delicious. Definitely recommend it for some low pressure interactive fun - and as a nice change from more passive watch and take photos type of activities. Only goes for about 1.5 hour so it’s perfect if you’re a bit travel weary.

Worthwhile, memorable, and recommended
This is an artisanal soba restaurant that hosts classes outside open hours. The gluten-free classes are before lunch time so the kitchen starts from a freshly-cleaned state. The soba Master was an excellent teacher, and the rice-flour tempura accompaniment prepared by the Mrs. was delicious. Most of all, the flavor of 100% buckwheat soba prepared with our own hands, and professionally guidance, was exquisite. A worthwhile, memorable, and recommended experience.

Finally attainable homemade gluten free noodles
This was a lovely experience while we learned how to make pure buckwheat soba noodles. Our hosts were very friendly and knowledgeable. The second part was discovering how gluten-free tempura can be so delicious and attainable. Although they are not fluent in english, we were able to understand their instructions and succeeded in making the noodles.

We had an incredible noodle making experience. It was so much fun making our own noodles and the instructors were very kind and made it a wonderful moment on our trip. Highly recommend this private, one of a kind experience!

Delicious soba experience! 🤤
Taka was really helpful in guiding us through the soba making process. It was super fun and easy to follow! We were able to ask him more in depth questions about the process and history. We do speak a bit of Japanese though but he was very knowledgeable

The highlight of our Sapporo trip!
The soba making class was a wonderful family activity. Taku was a great teacher making this hands on experience an educational and fun one. We gained a better appreciation for art of soba making. The soba, tempura and shabu shabu meal was a delicious ending to the class. An experience we would definitely recommend to others.

Appreciated Soba Noodles More
I had no idea how complex making soba was until I took this class with my partner. He allowed us to experience making it by hand, and explaining why certain processes are necessary. I had a deeper appreciation of soba noodles.
The food served was amazing with kakkiage, tempura, and the venison hotpot. The venison was really really good, and never thought I'd actually enjoy venison cut as a bacon and dipped in a hotpot.
