The face of the Sphinx is generally believed to represent the pharaoh Khafre.[2] Cut from the bedrock, the original shape of the Sphinx has been restored with layers of blocks.[3] It measures 73 m (240 ft) long from paw to tail, 20 m (66 ft) high from the base to the top of the head and 19 m (62 ft) wide at its rear haunches.[4] It is the oldest known monumental sculpture in Egypt and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom during the reign of the pharaoh Khafre (c. 2558–2532 BC)

Bestest of the best

I am one of the people who barely writes reviews but I had to write for this company. I am a paranoid person when it comes to trusting people and it’s hard to please me with service but I kid you not this company went above and beyond to make sure we were in good shape. Starting we only had one day and I arrive in Cairo Egypt at 1 am and they were waiting for us outside already. We had a delayed for our bags but they still waited for us. We also booked our hotels in Giza area to save our time as it’s an hour drive from the airport and this company did their very best to drop at the hotel. At 9am sharp as promised the guide and the driver was here to pick us up. The guide was very fluent in English and had great sense of humor. He knew we had one day in which we had to cover pyramids of Giza, camel riding at the pyramids, national museum of civilization, salahuddin ayubi fort and Mohammad Ali mosque, a finest lunch experience, felucca ride at River Nile then going to see Al Azhar mosque and explore khan Al Khalil bazaar where we shopped our souvenirs and then dropping us to the hotel and this was all in one day 12 hours. The guide was very knowledgeable and very respectful. He managed all the attractions so well that we didn’t feel rushed. The car was super clean and they also offered us bottle of waters. Everything I mentioned had our tickets included and the company literally treated us like their own family. I admit that I couldn’t fully enjoy Egypt in a leisurely space but that’s because of short on time on my end. However I believe I will be back and will hire the same people again to explore more of Egypt inshallah including Alexandria, Luxor and Aswan. We plan to come back either this year again. Our travel manager was Zizo and our tour guide was Muhammad Afifi (hands down the best guide ever) and an amazing photographer. He was truly and all rounder. I wish to come back soon and hire him again with the same company inshallah

Amazing - Thank you Kareem!

The tour guide (Kareem) and driver (Mohamed) arrived at my hotel promptly at 8am and introduced themselves, before taking us to the pyramids. I won't go into the details of the destination, but it was truly remarkable! After this we proceeded to the Egyptian Museum, where Kareem took us around and showed us some key artifacts. After the museum we went back to our hotel. Mohamed, our driver, was very courteous and was always on time and drove us safely between destinations. There are not many words that explain how amazing Kareem was as our tour guide. He is one of the nicest people you can hope to meet, and his knowledge of the subject matter was incredible, having studied archeology. He showed such a genuine passion for the ancient history of his country and it made our day so truly impressive. He was also patient, attentive and supportive - ensuring we got to just enjoy the day entirely. Thank you SO much Kareem.

Very accommodating team to make the best of day trip to Cairo

booked via WhatsApp, reluctant to make any payment in advance online so agreed a cash payment after the trip. Met straight at arrivals hall in Cairo, straight to the pyramids with a driver and a guide. They want to make the day about you so although they suggested things like camel ride, various view points and some shopping they didn’t push when we said no. Guide happy to talk us through the history at our pace and show us around. Then went on to the Egyptian museum and again talked us through key items to provide history. All entrance fees included (except to actually enter a pyramid that’s an additional few $), lunch was at a local restaurant with traditional food and drop off back at the airport. We finished quite quickly and asked what else there was to do but struggled a little with additional things to do other than shopping. Very happy with the experience and would recommend to anyone who wants to tailor they own Cairo / Giza experience. Not overly expensive in comparison to others, $160 for 2 adults and a 5 year old.

Dismissive, uninformative, disappointing guide. Good driver and transfer.

Our driver was professional, courteous, and helpful. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for our guide. His knowledge of most places we visited was equivalent to what you could find on the back of a postcard, but only if you know the exact lineage of pharaohs and time period of each of them. Unfortunately, my knowledge of world events is generally tied to years, which was not helpful in this situation. When we asked probing questions, we generally received dismissive answers. Once at the museum we were asked if “5-10 minutes would be enough” and he was not pleased when we requested an hour and a half. The best part was visiting the local craft (papyrus) and oil shops. I understand that guides generally receive commissions from these stops, but we are traveling for a long period and do not need the extra weight in our bags. We politely partook in the demonstrations but when we did not buy anything, our guide was visibly upset. He did not say a word for approximately an hour after we left these shops. Overall, this was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had on a private guided tour. We booked this one due to the high previous ratings so, I assume, we were just unlucky with our guide selection. Unfortunately, this experience essentially ruined Egypt for us. We would have been better off with no guide and Wikipedia than what we had. If it hadn’t been for the driver, who was great, I would have rated this experience 1/5

Day trip to Pyramids

We were picked up on time by our guide and chauffeured by car exclusively to Giza. Once there we were shown everything and explained what we wanted to know. The Sphinx was another interesting component as was the step pyramid of Sakkara. After another stop in Memphis there was great food. It was a great day without any complaints. Thank you for that.

Full option visit of Cairo

Tour was given by Ahmed Refaat, due to the long time between arriving and return flight I got a fully packed tour: pyramids, museum, coptic Cairo, bazaar, mosk. Gave interesting information at each location, all the while making sure I wouldn't have to queue. It was a very hot day and Ahmed took care of hydratation every chance we got.

Pyramid visit

Private tour from our hotel with French speaking guide I strongly recommend this tour which will greatly facilitate your task no Waiting time , the guide explains and shows you places you might not have accessed without it Typical lunch nice On the other hand big downside on the operation of Emotours The excursion had been fully paid from the moment of booking and without any reason and without any explanation from them another charge was made to my account After contacting their Service a refund should be made but it has been more than 10 days and still nothing In fact, they can take whatever they like without any permission from you. It is incomprehensible and not very serious

Best Tour Company of Egypt - EMO Tours

EMO Tours we’re excellent in their service. Our booking agent Zizo and our Tour guide Sameh were both fantastic. Zizo always kept me updated throughout our whole trip and helped me and my family feel comfortable in Egypt. And Sameh our guide was extremely knowledgeable, fun to be around and very considerate guide. He helped us on every tour and made this experience a lot of fun. I would recommend using EMO Tours to see whole of Egypt as they have every tour available in every city in Egypt. And choose Zizo as your booking agent and request Sameh as your guide and you won’t regret it at all. Absolutely the very best!
