We had a great experience! The van at the meeting point was easy to find from the port and very friendly. We had Xander as our jump coach, and he was friendly, encouraging, and helpful along the way. We did purchase the photo package on site, which was $45, and we had some great photos! (Thanks Orlando!) Xander also took my husband's phone in the waterproof pouch and got some great action shots! We got to do several rock slides and two jump options towards the end (I chickened out and just did the slide). We ate some fresh mango, and since no one in our group was a drinker, we got some Coca-Cola instead of the rum punch, which I appreciated. The only thing I wish I had understood was that we had our jump coach through the booking and some additional guides from the facility itself, who were also great. I would have brought more $ to tip everyone as they all went above and beyond. Don't hesitate to book this- it was well worth the money!
Had a bit of a rough start as the map told us to meet right after you got off the ship. The instructions said to meet outside the cruise terminal which was a long walk and no signs. I guess the company was supposed to email us a map but we never got one. Our bus ended up leaving without us, which I’m not upset about because we were late due to poor instructions. However, Rosie went above and beyond to secure us a taxi and take us to the falls to meet our group. We did have to pay $30 extra for that. Once we got to the falls we caught up with our group and had a great time. Hike to the falls is hot in July but we made it and the falls/slides were awesome and refreshing. Our tour guide Xander was amazing. Took all our pictures and helped my two kids a lot. Even with all the directional issues in the beginning, I would recommend.
Incredible experience you couldn’t get anywhere else. Our guide/jump coach Xander was amazing and even bought us bananas from a local on the way back.
Our family had an incredible experience on the Waterfalls of Damajagua – Adrenaline Adventure excursion with Princess Cruises. Although I am not comfortable with heights, the professionalism and guidance from Richard and his team gave me the confidence to fully participate, including jumping from the waterfalls and sliding down the natural rock formations into the crystal‑clear pools. Safety was clearly the top priority. Each guest received a helmet and life jacket, and the guides stayed with us individually to ensure everyone felt secure and supported. My husband and sons enjoyed the jumps so much they repeated them several times. The excursion begins with a pleasant 15‑minute hike through the beautiful Dominican Republic forest, followed by a walk through a water‑carved canyon leading to the first waterfall. The scenery is breathtaking, and the entire experience is both exhilarating and well‑organized. I highly recommend this excursion to families seeking a safe and memorable adventure.
Best excursion. We are not super fit people so the hike was a workout but totally doable with the breaks. Water was beautiful and such a memorable trip. We were one of the first groups out that day so the water was clear. Would definitely do it again and again. Just wish we had more time to slow down and enjoy longer. Guides were amazing.
Thank you for your awesome review :-) We are very happy that your time with us was "memorable". Our company Jump Coaches© (your guide to and during Damajagua) are highly skilled. We do move at a quick clip due to the ship's time in port but the breaks really help. We also hope you enjoyed some of our signature rum punch and Merengue music on the return to the port :-) HAPPY SAILING! This is a fantastic tour company. Due to the inclement weather, our ship changed the day it was going to port. The company was great - reached out that they knew of the change and ensured everything would be set for the new date. When we arrived at port the next day, the excursion was cancelled. Again, this had nothing to do with the company, but rather the rainfall earlier had made it dangerous for that excursion, so the entire area was closed to all groups. We received an apology and a very quick refund of our money. I won’t hesitate to book with them in the future!
THANK YOU! These types of comments/reviews mean so much to us. We really regret the disappointment and hope that you come back to us one day soon so we can jump into the waterfalls together :-) HAPPY SAILING! This small group tour was an excellent way to visit one of the areas biggest attractions and learn some local culture along the way. The guide was super friendly and informative. The waterfalls themselves were very adventurous. I would not recommend if you do not like walking up and down hills/steps. However, if you're in a decent amount of shape it should be right for you.
We would do this again. We beat the cruise ship crowds. Just be sure to meet up early otherwise others will have to wait for you and you’ll get caught in the crowds. Jordan was awesome professional outfit. Great family activity.
Thank you! Jordan has seen this :-) We do all we can as a team to provide our guests with the best possible experience. This was such an amazing experience!! Would 10/10 do again. Xander was our guide and was great!! We had a pretty active group and made the hike on no time which allowed us to spend a little extra time jumping and swimming.
This was a tour that I'm glad I took but would not need to do again. You need to be relatively fit to do the hike up the mountain. Going down the slides was fun but it is very crowded when there are a lot of ships in port. There were 4 ships in port when we went, so the Falls were super-busy and a lot of time was spent waiting to go down slides or jumping down. Note that we didn't see actual waterfalls, it was really sliding down slides. I believe the tour typically goes down 7 'falls', but we only did 5 due to the drought. Our group was 18 people but we had to join another group with the official Fall guides. We had a personal photographer with our group and you could buy the photos on a zip drive for $45. I did not bring that much in cash with me, or any credit cards. If you're a group of friends, its worth buying 1 and splitting the cost. Angel was a fun tour guide. We stopped after the Falls for some local snacks and Angel gave us some rum punch in the van.
