If you're looking for an excursion in Amber cove Barney is your man! He offers multiple different tours, we did the waterfalls and monkeys and had an absolute blast! His communication is really good and the private van and tour guide are perfect. You're able to leave your dry clothes in the van while you do the waterfalls. The hike to the waterfalls is about 45 minutes mostly uphill, I highly recommend GOOD waterproof shoes. Do not recommend water socks without a rubber sole. Barney provides disposable water bottles to drink on the hike up.

We booked Dominican Atlantic Barney Tours while visiting Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic. We chose them for transportation to the Monkey Home along with a tour of Puerto Plata, and overall we had a very good experience. Our driver was prompt, professional, and drove safely. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and we always felt safe while traveling around the area. Our driver spoke very little English, but we were able to make it work without any major problems. The tour included the Monkey Home, a city tour of Puerto Plata, and several stops along the way. We also stopped at some gift shops and had opportunities to try local coffee and other products. It was a good way to see several different things in one day without having to worry about arranging transportation ourselves. Overall, we enjoyed the experience and would recommend Barney Tours to others visiting Puerto Plata. The language barrier was the only real challenge, but it didn't prevent us from having a good day. 4 out of 5 stars.

We had an amazing experience!! Paulino was our guide and told us about the history of the DR as we drove to the different locations. The waterfalls and monkeys were amazing. Paulino made sure we were happy and taken care of every step of the way. Highly recommend Barney and this company!

We had an amazing experience with Barney and Adrian’s Tours! We chose the 7 Waterfalls and Monkey Home excursion, and everything was exactly as promised—well-organized, on time, and stress-free from start to finish. Adrian was an incredible guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared information about the area throughout the entire tour. When we arrived at the waterfalls, we were introduced to another fantastic group of guides who kept us entertained and made the adventure even more enjoyable. The waterfall experience included about a 40-minute hike up before making our way down through seven beautiful waterfalls and natural pools. The entire waterfall portion lasted around two hours and was absolutely worth it. I highly recommend hiring the photographer/videographer—they captured amazing photos and videos of the entire experience so we could fully enjoy the adventure without worrying about our phones. After the waterfalls, we took a short 20-minute drive to Monkey Home, which ended up being one of our favorite parts of the day. The squirrel monkeys were adorable, incredibly friendly, and there were so many of them! We also enjoyed tasting fresh cacao and coffee and watching cigar-making demonstrations, which gave us a great glimpse into local culture. As if the day couldn’t get any better, Adrian insisted we make a quick stop to try mofongo. We are so glad we did—it was absolutely delicious! He even treated us to a bag of fresh mangoes, which were some of the best we’ve ever had. This tour was the perfect balance of adventure, culture, wildlife, and local food. The company clearly knows how to maximize your experience while staying within the scheduled timeframe. The entire tour lasted about five hours, and every minute was enjoyable. We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone visiting the area. Five stars all the way! Safe, private. Friendly, and priced very well!

Barney and his crew made sure we had a safe and fun experience. They went above and beyond for us and got us back to our ship in more than enough time. If you’re on the fence just go ahead and book. You won’t regret it.

We had a great time! Private van for 5. We loved everything about it! Monkeys, sight seeing and lunch on the beach! Definitely would recommend this to anyone!

We enjoyed visiting the monkeys and some pictures in the City with shopping, coffee, chocolate and a rum factory tour and tasting. Very safe way to visit the island and see more of the culture. Barney is amazing! From communicating with him to get scheduled until he dropped us back off at the port, he was top notch. Not only did we go to monkey land and take a city tour, we learned so much about Dominican culture. I can’t recommend him enough. Book your excursion with Barney! You won’t regret it!

Incredible guide and personal service... going with Barney instead of a big group cruise excursion was the best decision we could have made. Instead of having to deal with the headaches of being shuffled around on larger cruise groups, rushed, AND be charged a premium, we booked directly with Barney and couldn't be happy. His rates are competitive and service is excellent. He shared a lot of interesting info about the island. His van is comfortable and clean and soda/water are provided. We went with him to the waterfalls, Monkeyland, and the city center and had a great time. I'm afraid Barney has spoiled us for good because when we come back to the DR he will be the ONLY tour guide we book!
