Terrible Experience: Too Much Time on the Bus

Terrible experience. We spent almost 9 hours on a bus with inadequate air conditioning and no curtains, so we were exposed to the sun for most of the journey. The guide’s audio was barely understandable, and the audio guides for non-English speakers were practically useless. We spent more time on the bus than actually enjoying the places we visited. Very disappointing, especially for such a long tour.

Nice interesting introduction

Fun and interesting day. The guide gave good explanations and knew fun facts. Too bad about the long time it takes on the bus.

Great tour & amazing wildlife

I really enjoyed the tour today! We got to see a lot of beautiful places and learned so many interesting things along the way. Personally, I would have loved to have had a little more time in the rainforest to walk around and explore, but we still got to see a lot and received plenty of interesting information. Our tour guide Daniel was great! He was funny, made lots of jokes, and created a really fun and relaxed atmosphere throughout the tour. We were also very lucky with the wildlife — we saw six crocodiles and even a cassowary, which was definitely a highlight! Overall, it was a really fun and memorable tour, and I would definitely recommend it!

Great experience and tour guide

My partner and I just had the best time visiting the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation. Our tour guide Reece was particularly engaging and enthusiastic, and we got a genuine sense for his love of this part of Australia. We thought the trip was well organised and efficient. We even saw a Cassowary with its chicks, as well as a number of crocodiles. Thanks guys!

8 hours on a bus....

A 12-hour day!!!! Departure 6:40 AM return 7:15 PM (departure from Cairns) 8 hours of bus travel in one day to go from express visit to express visit.... Everything is done at a breakneck pace... without really enjoying it.. I had checked audio guide in French to understand the subtleties of the explanations... no audio guide... So a grueling day to do independently, not by bus… Even the crocodiles at 30 m…. It’s too far from Cairns….

Operator response

Dear X6722WQpb, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I'm very sorry to hear this tour did not meet your expectations. Please accept my sincere apologies. Our Cape Tribulation tour is a long tour indeed. So much to cover but our stops are designed in a way to give time to explore and interact with our driver guide and nature. I do note however, that the audio guide was not provided to you. I'm again terribly sorry about this as well. Our driver guide should always have extra devices so I'll remind them all to ensure they do. I hope that the rest of your time in Cairns went well.

What a day!

This was our favourite of the three tours we did from Port Douglas. The sights we saw were spectacular and our driver/guide, Daniel, was extremely knowledgeable, organised and had a great sense of humour. The day went very smoothly and included lots of stops to eat and drink along the way. The star attraction was, of course, the beautiful scenery and interesting wildlife. We even caught a glimpse of a cassowary! What a day!

A truly memorable experience

An early start but 2 main pick up points in Cairns and Port Douglas ensured a full bus for a very full day. An amazing introduction to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation, with lots of interesting facts about the area and amusing anecdotes delivered so professionally by our wonderful driver and guide Daniel. The trip includes a walk through the Gorge and river boat trip and we were even lucky enough to spot 3 crocodiles! A tea/coffee and massive scone!! stop broke up the morning and excellent lunch plus wonderful ice creams made locally were all included in the price. A truly memorable day and enjoyable day, thank you Daniel for looking after us so thoughtfully and providing such a great commentary throughout.
