Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up

Don't like to post bad reviews, but this wasn"t a great experience especially given the cost, £200 each. The driver was very pleasant but didn't have much of a clue or any kind of plan. Seemed to expect us to know exactly what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go. We're tourists from another country! Answered our questions when he could, but clearly not an expert on the area, or the wildlife, or offered any kind of proactive commentary. We obviously understand that spotting wildlife is very unpredictable, and had no expectations, but he offered no insight into the area or its history, vegetation or wildlife beyond what we had already found out ourselves and couldn't identify much. Maybe he was just having a bad day. To be fair, he was happy to move the start time to suit our arrival. We listened in to the stories from other group leaders at the stop where all the other small buses were parked to look for bears. Nice short walk in the wood and not his fault that I couldn't walk far. Nice beach. Nice view. Nice driver. Not £400 worth though. Pretty disappointing over all.

Our tour guide Rick was very friendly, knowledgeable and let us do stuff at our own pace rather than rush us.

We had a great time with our tour guide Jason. Extremely knowledgeable about all things under the sea he took us to specific areas to watch for bear even though we never did see any it’s not because he didn’t try, went to some fantastic beaches to a rainforest, A couple of beautiful beaches, and we Learn something new every where we went. Hats off to Jason for giving us a wonderful day. This is a must do tour when in Ketchikan!

Loved this excursion and loved Rick. We chose this over other cruise and inspired excursions and everyone we’ve talked to on the ship says we had the best excursion. Saw a bear learned all about the salmon saw the salmon trying to commit suicide of the salmon ladder learned so much about awesome totem holes. Such a great experience so thankful.

Rick gave a fantastic tour of Ketchikan. He is knowledgeable, humorous and accommodating. We all enjoyed the history of potlatch and totem poles. Never knew The whole cycle of how salmon spawn, incredible. The waterfall and rain forest were an unexpected treat. Of course Creek Street. Also gave us great recommendations on where to eat from a local perspective. Highly recommend this tour.

Jason was great! Very knowledgeable about the area. We were able to see whales, salmon spawning, and even a mama bear and her cubs! We were on a cruise, but booked this private tour versus being with a huge group off the ship and so glad we did.

What a great and informative afternoon out with Jason. He was flexible and adapted the tour to suit us and was very knowledgeable, giving some extra time to see the black bears which was very much appreciated.

Our guide was wonderful, text when and where we would meet. Very informative.

I have only good things to say: first, Jason texted our group where he was parked and a description of the vehicle, which was so helpful. He was friendly, we discussed options for the tour, and started right in with seeing spawning salmon on 2 locations. Then went on to see lots of birds, a few bears, a waterfall, a beautiful beach at low tide, deer, and foraged for berries. Jason is a long time local, and worked in several places with fish and wildlife. He could identify all the animals, and knew so much about them and how they live. Also, the van was clean and in good shape.

Rick was knowledgeable and friendly. Packed a lot into 4 hours. Made great use of our time with visiting the sites we really enjoyed. Seeing the totems and salmon run for spawning were the best
