Stunning grounds, animals & enclosures. I loved the bird show it was truly magical & interactive. Great little train ride around park & very helpful volunteers scattered all around the park.
Hi there, Thank you for your review! We are so glad to hear you enjoyed your day at the Sanctuary. Kind Regards, The Currumbin Sanctuary Team.
This is the best place to get up and close with Australia's native animals. Definitely prepurchase your entry ticket so you can skip the line at the park. Plus it's cheaper buying on Viator.
Generally good experience but poor experience in the front gate acknowledging the booking. Had to stand in a separate line to find the booking.
Hi Robyn, Thank you for your review, we're glad you had a good day with us overall! We're sorry for the confusion at the front gate with your TripAdvisor booking. We know having to queue twice isn't the welcome we want to give, and we've shared your feedback with our admissions team as we work on making third-party bookings smoother to check in. If there's anything else you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you at hello@cws.org.au Kind regards, The Currumbin Sanctuary Team
We have visited a few wildlife sanctuaries across Australia. Currumbin is on a different level. It does not feel like a zoo. It feels like the Australian bush, and the animals just happen to be there with you. Everything about it is designed with kids in mind. There are playgrounds throughout, a train that loops the whole sanctuary with a dedicated pram container, and enough to keep small kids busy for a full day. The koalas alone are worth the trip. We have never seen them this active anywhere else. Jumping, eating, cuddling, with joeys chasing their mums. So many of them and so close. The Blinky Bill stage show was a highlight we did not expect. Our daughter stood and danced the entire way through it. She left very seriously committed to finding a bin for her rubbish and letting go of balloons for good. The staff were exceptional. One was mid-feed at the Koala Habitat and still patiently answered every single one of our daughter’s questions. That kind of care is hard to find. We visited during the June promotion where adults paid kids prices online. Worth checking if something similar is running when you go. One of the best days we have had as a family. Go
Hi there, Thank you so much for your amazing, detailed review. We are so glad to hear you had such a great day at the Sanctuary. We hope to see you back here soon! Kind Regards, The Currumbin Sanctuary Team.
Nice to see the Roos and koalas, but the Roos don’t seem happy there. Very sad and lethargic, and lots of them in a small space. Tons of people feeding them, and most of them didn’t respond to the food. Also a line of people waiting to hold some of koalas that seemed to be paraded like toys for pics/$, which is also tough to watch.
A fantastic place to experience Australian wildlife up close. Great for families, couples, and international visitors wanting to see native Australian animals.
Best to buy tickets direct online as it is a lot cheaper than any other site I found. The park map is very confusing and I found the in park maps were also not that easy to read. What would be great is where there is a map putting a simple you are here sticker would be very good. Once we found our way to the kangaroos we sound the majority of the animals here and the lost valley. The food was pretty average but we just needed something. There are opportunities to feed and Pat certain animals which is good fun. For those who are game you can also do the tree top challenge where you fly through the park and see the animals from a different spot. Heaps of parking available across the road

We were staying in the area for 12 days so we joined the National Trust at the Sanctuary kiosk. There was an offer for joining and with the 4 visits we made to the Sanctuary we saved $$$. With the exception of one part of the Sanctuary (that I shall mention in a second) we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Which is one of the reasons why we kept coming back 4 times within 12 days, although each visit was only between 1 and 3 hours. We did go to the WildSkies Free-Flight Bird Show. While it was great to see the birds the event was spoilt by the dramatic loud background music that drowned out what the two female presenters were saying. I heard about half, my wife less so of what they said. I have no idea who thought it was a good idea to have the music as loud as it was while the presenters were enthusiastically trying to deliver interesting facts about the bird wildlife that was on show. This I found disappointing as we really wanted to hear the interesting facts about the Birds there. Afterwards I did mention this to a member of staff who said they would mention it to management. For this reason I can only give 4 stars mainly because the Bird Show is presented and pushed on to visitors as a must see event within the Sanctuary.

A wonderful day out exploring. We held a Koala, saw a bird show with the experts and had a great look around. We took an uber out. Take good walking shoes. You get to feed the kangaroos too. Such a great experience.
Hi there, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your day at the Sanctuary. We hope to welcome you back for another visit soon. Kind Regards, The Currumbin Sanctuary Team
Queuing to get in was not good and the trip adviser ticket was not recognised and they had to look up the booking online. The park was great; I'm surprised people can still hold koalas as this has been stopped in NSW.
Hi there, We’re sorry to hear about the delay upon entry and the issue locating your TripAdvisor booking. We understand how frustrating that can be, especially at the start of your visit, and we appreciate your patience while our team worked to resolve it. We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the park overall. In Queensland, Koala experiences are still permitted under strict animal welfare regulations, and the wellbeing of our animals is always our top priority. Thank you again for visiting and for taking the time to leave a review. Kind regards, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Team
