My wife, MIL, and I had a wonderful time with Sonia in Naples. She was extremely friendly and made the whole experience wonderful. We would highly recommend anyone take this tour.

Expensive. Definitely not value for money. Did see parts of the city that you would not necessarily find on your own.

Our family learned so much about the city of Napoli and street food culture on this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly and made sure to help keep us comfortable in the heat and sudden downpour of rain. Unfortunately in August some of the shops are closed that are typically part of the tour, so just keep that in mind and maybe book before the Ferragosto holidays. It was a one of a kind experience!

We took the food tour with Culinary Backstreets in Naples, led by our guide Chiara, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! The tour went well off the beaten path and gave us a real sense of local cuisine. Neapolitan pizza was the obvious highlight, but other standout bites included — cod ceviche and burrata. Beyond the food, Chiara wove in stories about Naples’ history and culture throughout the day, which added real depth to the experience. One unexpected stop was meeting Pasquale De Stefano, Naples’ last traditional sign maker, recently profiled in the New York Times. Watching him work was a fun detour from the food itself. Chiara made the day. She was lovely, energetic, and genuinely fun to spend time with. I’d recommend her and this tour to any food-loving traveler visiting Naples.

Tour leader was good. Tour started with at least 3 stops involving bread. The final stop was essentially a full meal including pizza pasta meatballs which was delicious but most of us very relatively full at that juncture. Did Istanbul with your company which was fabulous with more variety at the stops.

I consider myself a Foodie, so I've booked many times Food tours in different cities around the world. But nothing compared to this CB tour! I can't recommend it enough. There is so high quality in the suppliers/hosts that it is not a commercial or touristy tour. It's Naples cuisine, pure, simply, direct, authentic 100%. I enjoyed my tour guide as well, Chiara, she was so sweet and everybody among the sellers loved her. She is treated like part of the family. Book the tour and you will enjoy each moment!

This is my third time doing a Culinary Backstreet tour and it was as fantastic as always. Happily, our family turned out to be the only people on the tour so it turned into a private tour, which was so much more meaningful! Some highlights for us were drinking lemon soda with baking soda, visiting a local sign maker (who's signs we then saw all over Naples!), visiting a bakery that supplied restaurants all over the city....and of couse, the pizza. We tried new things, learned a lot and had a great time. Our host was warm, knowledgeable about all things Naples (beyond food) and accomodating to our varied needs. If you're wondering if you should do a Culinary Backstreets tour, don't wonder anymore - just book it!
