It is a rather poor experience, although undoubtedly well organized. They pick you up in a minibus at the hotel, they take you to the port to catch a speedboat with two engines that fits about 25 people more or less. They take you to the island, they explain 19 minutes of history of the island and they release you for 15 minutes so you can fend for yourself around the pagoda/s, well there are two, after 15 minutes, with a whistle blow, back to the dock, they give you 5 minutes so that in some public restrooms, with the floor wet from... I don't know what, you put on your swimsuit. To the boat and still 2 stops at two boat/offices, one for those who at the last moment have decided to pay more and do sea walking (walking on the bottom with a diving helmet) or scuba diving. I didn't do any of that, just snorkeling, but a companion did scuba diving and explained to me that it was a disaster, that they wouldn't leave you alone and that they had you "tied up".... well, I don't want to be critical here, because I wasn't there. We arrived at the snorkeling area, 30 min maximum, murky water and a thousand people, of course there is murky water ..... with so many people... impossible. Then they take you to a beach bar where they give you food but first passing through the floating offices. The food is included and it is exquisite!!!! Although watch out, the drink is not included. Then a while at the beach, about 45 min and back to the origin, and back to the bus that takes you back to the hotel where they picked you up
The tour had a somewhat confusing start. The pick-up was fine, but the arrangements at the dock were unclear and we were shuffled onto a boat for around 25 minutes without much explanation. Our guide also spoke very little English, so communication was mainly through translation on her phone, which made it difficult to understand the itinerary initially. However, once we got going, the day turned out to be quite enjoyable. We travelled by boat to another beach, went snorkelling from the boat, and had a simple but tasty Vietnamese lunch. We then had some relaxing time on the beach before returning to Hoi An. So overall a good experience after.
This tour is worth only if you like the fumes from boats, disorganised guides and crowds.
Beautiful beach and great food. Snorkeling is ok, but only 45 min. Value for money for a family who wants a getaway :)
Driver arrived on time, but was raining, and bad visibility. All was professional and would recommend just check weather before you go. Snorkeling area is good for beginners, coral was okay but not too much wildlife. I loved the authentic lunch, was definitely one on my favourites on the trip.
Excellent sites and if you love snorkeling this is very much for you to go. I will recommend this to everyone
Pick up was punctual in a bus that was comfortable, driver was smooth and ride smooth Boat ride fantastic snorkling ok thogh the current was very strong Food ok
Our excursion to Cham Island was unfortunately a disappointing experience from start to finish. The tour felt disorganized and poorly managed, and it did not live up to what was advertised. After booking, I was unexpectedly charged an additional 200,000 VND a month later, then notified just two days before the trip about another surcharge due to “fuel costs.” Once we were picked up, it became clear we had also been charged extra for a separate driver—even though our hotel was supposedly included in the free pickup zone. The lack of transparency around pricing was frustrating. The tour itself was chaotic. Multiple groups were combined, and there didn’t seem to be a clear plan or coordination. We were shuffled between different guides throughout the day, which added to the confusion. The boat ride to the island, which took about 30 minutes, was uncomfortable due to heavy exhaust fumes that caused many passengers to cough and gag. Once on the island, the “city tour” consisted of a brief stop in an area with very little to see or do—mostly small vendors clearly geared toward getting tourists to spend money. Most people were ready to leave almost immediately. We were then taken to a beach for about 30 minutes, only to be rushed back onto the boat for a short 45-minute snorkeling session, and then returned again to the same beach for lunch. In total, we spent only about three hours on the island, which felt like a waste given the amount of time and money involved. The food provided was underwhelming, and many in our group barely ate. The staff appeared rushed, disorganized, and at times loud, and it often seemed like they were unsure of what was happening next. Overall, this tour felt like a disjointed, rushed experience that prioritized moving people through quickly rather than providing an enjoyable or memorable day. I would not recommend this excursion. You’re better off saving your money and visiting a beach club near Da Nang or Hoi An instead.
Good organization of the tour. More time on the island would have been nice.
Easy pick up , knowledgable guide and fun day out. The boat ride was comfortable and safe as we had good weather conditions. Nice to have free afternoon time to relax on the beach
