Geniuses Clara the guide and Sebastian the driver, very good predisposition and information, we spent a beautiful trip on the peninsula.
We had a wonderful tour with Pierre to Punta Norte and Estancia San Lorenzo. It was just the two of us in his car and he always kept us ahead of the cruise ship tour buses so it never felt crowded. We saw elephant seals and sea lions at Punta Norte then had a lamb barbecue lunch before walking amongst the magellanic penguins. Along the drive he pointed out all the other native species and stopped so we could get photos of the guanaco and mara. What really made the tour extraordinary was his knowledge of the history of Puerto Madryn and Patagonia plus the behaviors and complete life cycle of every species. And to top it all off, he came back after dropping us off at the cruise ship pier to return a cell phone we left in his car. I would wholeheartedly recommend Sentir Patagonia and be sure to request Pierre for your guide.
A lot of responsibility in managing the group to meet the penguins in their mating territory. The San Lorenzo stay was a very friendly and instructive experience.
Had a great time! Easy to find our guide in the morning and got us back on time in the afternoon. He was very knowledgeable about the area and answering our questions!
First time being so close to penguins except in zoos. Our tour guide is nice and knowledgeable. We learned things about Magellan penguins and wild lives on the Peninsula Valdes. However, we're not much interested in the San Lorenzo sheep farm. There were not much to see and nothing to do there (we could only saw sheep in far distance using binoculars). It's not worth stopping by with additional US $60 though the lunch was not bad.
Good afternoon, regarding the San Lorenzo Ranch, regarding the lack of much to see, we don't believe that's the case, as you saw a large colony of penguins in their own habitat and very close by. The $60 fee is the entrance fee to the San Lorenzo Ranch, which is set by the provincial government to guarantee the sustainability of the penguin reserve by providing infrastructure for wildlife rangers. This is necessary to enjoy the penguin spectacle, as well as the rural atmosphere.
Tour was as follows: 75 minute drive in cramped minibus to rest area 25 minute rest room break ??? 70 minute drive on extremely rough unpaved roads to 30 min Lunch Cold empanada, greasy lamb, salad and flan - Think school dinner quality 15 minute drive to Penguin rockery 20 minutes looking at Penguins 20 minute drive to Punte Nord 10 minutes looking at Seals 150 rough drive back So if you want 5 hours in a cramped rough ride minivan and less than 60 mins activity then this might be for you. Especially if unpaved dusty rough roads are your thing
Terrible and hell are 2 words that do not describe our services at all. This is merely your opinion, below are 2 comments from passengers who traveled in the same vehicle and took the same service as you. You should try other types of trips more in line with your tastes, Patagonia is one of the most exotic destinations for travelers. We have been providing this service for 20 years and all our clients have enjoyed it 100%. Again this opinion is just your lack of vision about what Patagonia offers. kind regards
Easy meet up at top of pier. Our ship docked at 9 & we had to be onboard by 5. Unfortunately this meant our trip was shorter than they usually are. It’s a long drive (although toilet stops every 90 minutes or so) to reach either the Estanza for lunch, or the penguins. ITS WORTH IT!!!!! Then more driving to see elephant seals - and sea lions Then another 2.5 hours back to ship Christina & Tina gave us so much information (translation to English by Tina) Make no mistake, there’s a lot of driving (a lot on dusty track type roads) You get to walk in amongst the penguins & it’s really peaceful. A wonderful experience ITS WORTH IT
Great tour! Cristina was an amazing tour guide tour she spoke in Spanish. She had an interpreter who was a wonderful translator. Very educational tour with the penguins! We had a wonderful time! Great Empanadas and Amazing Lamb lunch! Thank you all 3 of you. This includes the driver as well!
Easy to find the tour operators with the blue balloon at the cruise pier in Puerto Madryn. We were prepared with the cash payment for entrance fees of $90 each. Credit cards, Argentina pesos, or USD are accepted for this. Then 4 cruisers (two couples) were introduced to our driver/guide, Bento. We loaded into an SUV and headed off on the tour. Bento was very knowledgeable and informative along the drive. We stopped at the park visitor’s center, San Lorenzo estancia for lunch, penguin rookery, Punta Norte to see sea lions with their pups and a few elephant seals. Of course the rookery was the highlight. Bento provided many interesting facts about the wildlife and the surrounding environments. He was a wealth of information and did a great job with timing our visits too, avoiding crowds as much as possible, giving us ample time for photos and to savor the experience. The only negatives are the length of the drive which is unavoidable, and the slight discomfort of fitting three adults in the back seat of a car. The positives way outweigh these negatives and we highly recommend this trip.
Our tour was long and well worth it! Lucia our tour guide was friendly, kind, funny, and knowledgeable. A great time!
