Amazing experience 5* had a brilliant day out
It's worth doing. We had decided on the ride in the 4x4 Vito, which was therefore more comfortable than in the rustic Land Rover. Pickup took place at the hotel with a minor, announced delay. That was acceptable. The driver and guide spoke perfect German, was considerate of the travelers' needs, and answered all questions. The drive and the stops gave a nice impression of the geography, nature, climate, and living situation of the locals. The main attraction, the palm beach, was a big disappointment, however, as the palm trees right on the beach had burned down in the wildfire and were black. The explanations that the palm trees would probably be green again in a year didn't help either. The beaches next to it had clear, refreshing water with rocky shores. The stay of approximately 01:30 hours was perhaps a bit short. However, I felt the trip, if it were only about the beaches, was an unreasonable effort. The stop for lunch at a village tavern was nice. However, I found it a bit strange why the guide had to eat his meal away from the group. The food was simple and good. Overall, a tour that you can do if you are plagued by boredom at your "home beach." For me personally, too much effort and sweat, despite the comfort of the air-conditioned car in our case. Note: There are also less comfortable, but with more safari feeling, alternative Land Rovers.
I went with a friend and we had Dennis as our tour guide. He was full of enthusiasm and his knowledge of the area was fantastic. It was great value for money and was a lovely way to spend the day. Highly recommend Dennis as your tour guide! - Chloe and Amiee 😁😁
We had a really good day on the 4x4 safari. Our guide, Leif, was very knowledgeable about Crete and the places the tour went. The beach stop was fabulous - gorgeous sand, clear waters. We could not stop at Preveli due to the recent wild fires. Food included with the tour was very good too, a great selection of Cretan cuisine. We were very lucky to have a lovely family with us on the tour which made the trip even more enjoyable.
Fantastic experience! Our guide Dennis is a super fun enthusiastic guide with humor! He has told a lot, nice information and we have visited fantastic places.
Amazing trip to Preveli bay, Palm forest, Spilil, the Gorge etc. Kostas was an amazing guide, knowledgeable about the history of Crete and the area. His humorous commentary made everybody laugh and made it a most enjoyable experience. Highly recommend.
A great way to discover the island. Exploring the island in a rental vehicle yourself may be exciting, but I would never have found the paths and roads we were driven on this way. The tour guide, including our driver—we were in several vehicles—was competent and very friendly. At first we were a bit disappointed because the safari was sold as being with Jeeps, but then we were driven in a minivan, into which the tour guide was connected via walkie-talkie and commented on the tour. Considering the outside temperatures, we were ultimately happy with the air-conditioned, like-new vehicle. Yes, I am aware that the company also has costs such as drivers, vehicles, and insurance, but overall I found the price a bit too high.
Dionysos was a great guide, lots of information between each stop. Some stops were 15 minutes and he knew a lot about the area. About the landscape, history, trees and plants, manners and habits etc. the lunch mudflats extremely well cared for and arranged. Pick up from hotel was also great. I would recommend this day trip to anyone. With us it took from 08:15 to about 16:00 and not a moment boring.
Awesome tour! Got to see a lot and it didn’t feel too rushed. Spilli village was a cool stop and Preveli beach was very nice! Dionysis gave us a lot of good info about olive trees and the nature and landscape of Crete. He was very friendly and was a great photographer too!
Friendly guide, nice program, it was cool
Merci beaucoup pour ce retour super sympa ! Nous sommes ravis que l'ambiance et notre programme vous aient plu. C'était un plaisir de vous avoir avec nous ! Cordialement, Cretan Safari Alkmini
