Beautiful countryside; ...

Beautiful countryside; long drive from Athens. Our driver Kostas was very professional and pleasant. Unfortunately, train has been closed for the foreseeable future by EU due to landslides. Other sites were great. Note: Kalavryta museum is closed on Monday, so we missed that as well.

Operator response

Dear Gail, Thank you very much for your review and for your kind words about Kostas. We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful countryside and the other sites included in the day. We are truly sorry that the Odontotos train was not operating due to the ongoing landslide-related closure, and also that the Kalavryta Museum was closed on Monday. These external closures can unfortunately affect the full experience, even when the rest of the itinerary is completed as planned. We appreciate your understanding and your fair feedback. It was our pleasure to welcome you, and we are happy that Kostas made the day professional and pleasant for you.

Beautiful Mountain & Sea Scenery

Vasilis Melinda's was our tour guide and he did an excellent job . The train wasn't operational because rocks fell on the tracks, so we agreed to add some sites to the tour. Vasilis was very friendly and easy to converse with. He is familiar with the region and pointed out interesting highlights. At the end, Vasilis took us to a tavern in the quaint and beautiful mountain village of Kalavryta (spelling?) for a delicious hometown meal with very friendly staff. I recommend him highly.

Scenic trip

This trip was well worth every penny! We were picked up early morning and set off with our driver Vasilis who was very professional and informative. He took us to a monastery built in the mountain, we also visited karavyta and learnt about the holocaust of 1943 visited a museum too. We then visited the lakes in the caves then had lunch. Then took the train ride through the mountains on a scenic route where Vasili met us at the end of the journey to which he drove us two hours back to our hotel. All in all we were all well happy with this tour.
