Coral Coast Heritage Tour

Great day trip from coral coast. We had our own driver who was very flexible with what we wanted to do. Chris was friendly, knowledgeable and took us for some great curry and fried rice after a walk along the Sigatoka dunes. Some shopping at the Sigatoka markets and a visit to the village tribal hill fort for some great views across the salad bowl valley and river. Recommend.

Our guide, Romina, a young lady, drove us very competently, kindly, and humorously to the various spots and reported on the land and its people. At the market, she checked the quality of the fruits and negotiated good prices. We would book you again at any time. In the nature park, it is recommended to take the 2-hour tour over the large sand dune. The view and the experience are grand and unique. Almost like a trip to the desert. The craftsmanship of the women in the typical Fijian village is remarkable. The Kava ceremony is mandatory and should not be missed. The short tour of the grounds of the former fort is very informative.

The villagers welcomed us with warmth and shared their beautiful traditions. Every moment felt special, from the intricate pottery-making process to their heartfelt hospitality. ⛰️ Tavuni Hill Fort – A short but rewarding hike leading to a spectacular view! Standing at this historical site, soaking in the panoramic scenery, was the perfect way to end our journey. 🚐 Our guide, Tora Vuluma, was the heart and soul of this experience! His island knowledge, engaging storytelling, and friendly personality made this tour exceptional. He was thoughtful and patient, and his intelligent conversations and cultural exchanges made us feel deeply connected. It all started with a punctual and warm welcoming pickup and ended with a great feeling of satisfaction and gratitude. In between, Tora, our guide, took us on our Coral Coast Heritage Tour. Tora made sure we were comfortable during the one hour drive to the Sigatoka Sand Dunes, while he amazed us with facts about the history of Fiji. Tora offered several options for waking the dunes and guided us at ease through the hilly and sandy shore. The second stop was at the Nakabuta village for an amazing cultural experience. We were greeted with a traditional Kava ceremony, followed by a demonstration of clay pottery, and we wrapped up with dancing and singing. The last stop was at the Tavuni Hill for a breathtaking view of the Sigatoka river and the "salad bowl", combined with an amazing walk through history, as the local guide educated us on the tribal rituals of the past. Before heading back to our hotel, Tora treated us to fresh papaya and made sure we were comfortable and ready for our drive back. This day trip was perfect. It was exactly what we needed. Vinaka!
