Be careful how much you pay for the tickets. Used same website bought tickets in advance and pay almost double the price. Others in the group bought tickets the night before and paid $18 actual price. The point is price tickets is $18, do not pay more
We just wanted to explore the colosseum ourselves with listening to an audio guide if you want. This tour does this. It’s great, you can take your time exploring and can leave when you want to. The tour rep at the meet point was very friendly and gave us some tips and pointers for when we got in. He was great
The Colosseum is beautiful and the visit is very worthwhile, but we had many problems with the tickets. They did not send them to us on time and we had to call so they would send them to us. We had a very unpleasant moment because of the application and we were worried about whether we could enter. An experience that could have been avoided with better management.
No one showed up to covert our online tickets to actual tickets. Was instructed to meet in park to exchange tickets no one in park spoke English and when we asked around couldn’t find exchange person. Online tickets are not real from TripAdvisor and it’s a local scam. You buy tickets on line but they are not for the event you mush exchange with mystery person in public park. No person ever showed up with real ticket beware and no one to call for help. Text messages didn’t work. No refund for any reason whatsoever from TripAdvisor . No real person only computer generated crap. Take money be the fool
Dear Blair, We are deeply sorry to hear about your frustrating experience, but we must clarify that our service is far from a scam. We serve over 200 guests every day at the Colosseum, and our staff is always present at the designated meeting point in the park to welcome travelers and distribute their entry tickets. Our representatives are easy to identify—they carry an Italy Pass Tours flag featuring our official logo. While the Colosseum requires voucher exchanges for group entries, our team is there continuously to ensure this process goes smoothly and to speak with guests in English. We also maintain active customer support channels via phone and messaging during operating hours to assist anyone having trouble locating the group. We are truly sorry that you were unable to locate our representative at the meeting point. We take feedback like this seriously and will look into what went wrong with your communication attempts so we can prevent any confusion for future travelers.
The meetup point caused a lot of excessive walking in 100 degree heat. Instructions should have included to bring AirPods in order to hear guided tour better. We eventually discarded tour and followed along with the internet. Was good for avoiding lines.
Hi tceebee, We're glad the ticket helped you skip the lines and save some time. Walking around in 100-degree heat is tough, and we are sorry the meetup point added extra steps to your day. We are reviewing our meeting instructions to see how we can make the route more direct. Your tip about bringing headphones or AirPods to hear the audio guide clearly is excellent. We will update our confirmation instructions so future guests know to pack them. Thank you for the honest feedback, and we hope you still enjoyed the views inside the Colosseum.
It was great to see the history, hard to navigate through the crowds. Take a hat, get your water from the guys at the exit, it was frozen and perfect after the heat. Thanks to all those that preserve the history and manage the crowd.
Thank you so much for your review, We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed experiencing the history of the Colosseum. We sincerely appreciate your kind words for the teams working hard to preserve this incredible site and manage the flow of visitors. Thank you for sharing those practical tips about bringing a hat and finding refreshing water after your tour—we know how warm it can get, and we’re glad you were able to stay comfortable! We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon.
Total mess! Audio just gave info about the colosseum, not really a tour. Definitely recommend booking with a tour guide!!!
Dear Julie, thank you for your feedback. We are sorry for any confusion regarding your booking. As noted in the ticket description, this specific option is a self-guided experience that includes standard entry and an audio guide. For travelers looking for a more detailed experience, we do offer fully guided tours with live guides. We hope you will try one of our guided tours in the future.
We were expecting an audio guide on a device provided by tour operator. When in fact it was something you have to download to your mobile phone. We struggled getting Wi-Fi reception in colosseum so did struggle to hear the info at times. Although we collected our tickets from the tour guide we still had to queue to get in (approximately 45 mins). Whatever you do don’t forget your ID - they will not let you in without it. However we did enjoy the colosseum and would recommend a visit when in Rome
Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback and for recommending a visit to the magnificent Colosseum. We are sorry for any confusion regarding the audio guide format. To ensure hygiene and convenience, we provide a downloadable digital audio guide rather than physical devices. Because the Colosseum's thick stone walls can block cellular signals, we always highly recommend downloading the audio content before arriving at the monument. Regarding the wait time, please note that while our tickets provide priority scheduled entry, all visitors must pass through the mandatory security check run by the Colosseum administration. During peak times, this security queue can unfortunately take some time. Thank you also for emphasizing the ID requirement—security is indeed very strict, and physical passports or IDs are mandatory for entry. We are glad that you ultimately enjoyed your visit, and we hope to welcome you back to Rome in the future! Best regards, The Italy Pass Tours Team
I mean, seriously. It’s the Colosseum.
Hi Susan, You put it perfectly. The Colosseum really is a place where monumental human vision and intense history meet, and standing there is always a powerful experience. We are glad we could help you step inside and experience it for yourself. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. Best regards, The Italy Pass Tours Team
AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL... We made the reservation through Tripadvisor (Viator). We did not receive the tickets, and on the same day, minutes before entering, we had to call Italy Pass tours at +393477581405 to get some explanation. In the end, we sent the tickets via WhatsApp.
