What an experience. To actually be inside the Coliseum and see where so many innocent people died to satisfy the blood lust of the Romans, gives me the chills. Our guide was excellent and knew the ins and out of the forum for sure.

We felt that the tour could have been more enjoyable if the group was smaller, the crowds less and our guide easier to hear and understand. His delivery was rapid and at times garbled. . At a few days notice, we were denied access to the arena due to crowd restrictions. We understand that some of these variables are impossible to control, but in the end, it made the tour somewhat underwhelming.
Definitely worth the money and the time to go. You get to learn about Roman history and it's altogether which is even better.
Humi was an excellent guide! We visited Rome during a heat wave, and she was great at keeping us in shade as much as possible so the tour was bearable in the heat. We learned a lot, and she also allowed time for photos throughout. Having access to the arena floor was amazing. Due to the Colosseum’s restrictions on number of tours inside the arena, our guide was not able to accompany us inside; the tour ended outside, and she instructed us how to enter. However, my husband and I actually liked being able to go at our own pace inside, so it actually was all for the better!
Tour was Ok. Our guide was good. They changed our tour start time the day before and morning of tour advised us that guides are no longer allowed inside the Colosseum. This was apparently FALSE, as many guides were inside with groups when we finally were allowed to enter. We had a tour of Palestine Hill and the Forum, and on our own for the Colosseum. Would not recommend with this tour company.
We had a guided tour with City of Italy. Our guide was Ilaria Croce. Best tour guide for sure. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She made our experience interesting and funny by including us in role plays during the tour. I highly recommend that you ask for her.
Really enjoyed this tour! Unfortunately, I can’t remember our guide’s name( might have been Max?) but he was fantastic—very funny, engaging and extremely knowledgeable. He made the history interesting and easy to follow. One thing to note is that our guide was not able to accompany us inside the Colosseum. I received a message ahead of the tour explaining that Rome had recently changed its regulations and only certain tour companies/guides were permitted inside. I appreciated that the company communicated this in advance and offered a 20% refund because of the change. Despite that, I still had a great experience and enjoyed seeing the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Be prepared for a lot of walking, so comfortable shoes are a must! Overall, I thought the guide did a great job with the portions he was able to lead, and I appreciated how the company handled a situation outside of their control.
Great tour, lots of great info, guide very knowledgeable and passionate about the history. Highly recommend
This was a very disappointing experience. I didn’t receive details of the visit until about 30 minutes before it was leaving. I contacted the number given the day before but was unable to understand the person I was speaking to and she obviously didn’t want to be helpful. I found the tour guide difficult to follow both physically and verbally. She was guiding us with the use of a white umbrella so when it started to rain we soon lost her altogether. We were advised that guides were no longer allowed in the colloseum but when we entered there were lots of tour guides. We were told we would be refunded 20% of the cost but we don’t know if that has happened yet.
Bought and paid for full Coloseum experience which included a fully guided tour inside the Coloseum. A few days prior to the tour we received an email stating due to regulation changes the tour guides were no longer allowed inside and we would receive a partial refund for the inconvenience. The main reason we chose this tour was for the fully guided tour of the Coloseum. Receiving this notification from the tour operator a few days prior to the tour resulted in not being to find another tour as they were all fully booked or very expensive. Once inside the Coloseum there were numerous tour guides with other groups so I don't understand why ours was not permitted and we still haven't received the refund either.
