Difficult hike but 100% recommend
My tour with Jersey was fantastic! The trek is challenging but worth it. Beautiful views, great stay + refreshing swim in the oasis, and the guide Jersey was full of good humour and information.
My only warning is that the pickup is a bit unpredictable - mine came 20 minutes later than they were supposed to and if you are late for any meetup there is a serious chance they’ll leave without you. Make sure you’re on time for any meeting time!
Note that it is a serious hike. A few people did decide to take mules up out of the canyon because they were tired (for an extra fee).

Unforgettable tour to the Colca Canyon
We booked a customized day tour to the Colca Canyon with a subsequent transfer to Puno, and the organization beforehand was extremely professional. We started early in the morning with our guide Gustavo and our driver Juan Carlos and reached the condor viewpoint at the perfect time. It was an impressive experience to watch dozens of these majestic animals in front of the imposing mountain backdrop. Phenomenal! As the day continued, we also visited the smaller villages along the canyon and learned a lot about the local history and culture. At the local arts and crafts market, we would have liked a tip from the guide that we had accidentally bought fake alpaca sweaters. We only realized this days later, and for an experienced guide, that was certainly obvious. Too bad! Otherwise, we were very satisfied with the tour, and overall it was an unforgettable experience! - We would also like to particularly praise the performance of our driver for the very strenuous and long drive to Puno! We can unreservedly recommend Peru Baby Lama for private tours as well.

I did not like that they subcontracted.
We were a group of about 14-16 from different agencies and within the same tour (Colca from Arequipa ending in Puno, 2d/1n), and part of it was with one company, and halfway through, we were switched to another guide in another vehicle. Another couple booked the same package but was in a different vehicle; some were returning to Arequipa, some included meals, and others did not.
After confirming the pickup point and time twice, I went to the location (which was not exactly close), and once there, they called me because I was not in the Plaza, when it had never been agreed upon, after confirming the mistake, it took them almost an hour to pick us up.
It was quite noticeable that the quality of one company and the other was very different; one stopped us at several places to leave tips, and the other did not.
The meals not included were outrageous, forced (one next to my accommodation and the second lunch that was supposed to be in Chivay was in the middle of nowhere), mediocre for what they cost, and also with a fixed price (they could have informed us about those amounts beforehand).
Frankly, although the guides are good, the organization leaves much to be desired and is improvable. I hope they resolve it soon.

Terrible journey and read why
The tour is very nice and I recommend it with a different tour operator because ours thought we would take a trip of over 17 hours with a van with extremely tight spaces and that could be good for a trip of six hours and no more. Moreover, in their presentation they publish photos of tourist buses and then present themselves with a van full of people. Not serious. Sorry for the guide Walter who was instead very professional, friendly and helpful (he goes 5 stars)

Great Colca highlights tour — as a solo female English speaking traveler, I would recommend
This was a great tour — well organized, good bilingual guides, and comfortable bus — plus going straight to Puno really suited my travel plans. I got to see several condors gliding and loved the hot spring thermal baths (was a little nervous because I didn’t bring a locker lock, but my stuff all stayed safe anyway).
My only qualm, on again an overall great experience, was the bus to Puno ended several blocks from where taxis were — which with all my bags and after a 16+ hour day felt kind of brutal to hunt down. Company may want to consider a second drop by a bus station or maybe calling a small handful of taxis to your stop point.

Great trip if limited time
This is not the ideal way to see Colca Canyon but we had limited time so took this tour. We were collected from our hotel on time but we returned to Puno not Arequipa.
The tour gave us everything we expected including a great display of the condors flying. We had a number of stops before lunch visiting villages, observing the geography of the valley, some walking and of course, pisco sours. We were not bothered about the hot springs but they were very pleasant.
What made this trip so good was the guide, Nelson Smith, who was appropriately cheerful at 3am (gave us time to get some more sleep) but after breakfast was full of information about the Canyon and its geological features, all in great English. He gave us alternatives of activities and changed the order if activities to give us maximum benefit and see the condors flying.
After a good lunch we changed buses for Puno. This was when Nelson became a real star. Not only did he ensure that we and our luggage were on the correct bus, but when we realised that we had left our jackets on the original bus, arranged for them to be delivered to us in Puno.
