Amazing tour! A must do in Tulum. Thanks for the great time to the best guide Paloma and Aurelio!
Action packed and very worth it! The jungle tour and the Coba ruins were amazing, high octane fun. Prepare well for this trip as it is hot and energetic! Apart from the activities, the tour provides a lot of insight into Mayan culture, with visits to Mayan families and lots of info from the guides. Also the cenote visited is quiet, chill and you will likely have it to yourselves! The length of the day is spot on, as soon as you start feeling tired it is time to go home Our tour guide (I believe her name was lily?) was excellent, highly personable, easy going and knowledgeable about the Mayan way of life. Be sure to ask many questions.
Thank you very much. We’re thrilled that the combination of Cobá, jungle activities, cultural encounters, and a peaceful cenote gave you such a varied and rewarding day. We especially appreciate your advice for future travelers—this is definitely an adventure where comfortable clothing, sun protection, and plenty of energy come in handy! It’s great to hear that your guide’s approachable personality and knowledge encouraged you to ask questions and connect more deeply with the local culture. Thank you for sharing such a lively account of the experience and for highlighting what made the day so worthwhile!
Great tour of Coba led by guide Iber. If you get a chance this is worth visiting whilst staying in Quintana Roo.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Cobá! We’re delighted that Iber helped make your visit to this fascinating archaeological site such a worthwhile part of your time in Quintana Roo. Cobá has a wonderful atmosphere, with its ancient paths surrounded by jungle, and it’s always special to see visitors discover its history firsthand. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to Iber. We appreciate the recommendation and hope you enjoy many more memorable discoveries during your travels in Mexico!
Absolutely the most incredible tour with multiple awesome experiences. Coba ruins are awesome, you can climb one of the temples, but there's practically a whole city there to explore, and it's quiet, shady, very nice. We got to bike in there, too which was a surprise but definitely beat walking! We got a welcoming blessing ceremony by a Mayan elder and then to see wild spider and howler monkeys up close which was incredible and then zip lined and canoed across a beautiful lake. Then we swam in an incredible cenote which was beautiful and mysterious and only the few of us on the tour. Finally we had lunch with Mayan household that also runs a wildlife sanctuary where they show you the animals (and can even pet a few, my daughter was totally smitten with the faun, of course. And our guide, Santiago was totally chill and very knowledgeable and able to help people in 5 different languages, perhaps overqualified for the job,but we were really grateful for him. They managed to pick us up from the hotel in PDC and drop us at the ferry for our next leg. All in all worth every cent, an unforgettable trip!
Wow—what a fantastic account of your day, and thank you for sharing so many details! It sounds like you fully embraced every part of the adventure, from cycling through the ancient city of Cobá and meeting spider and howler monkeys to soaring over the lake, exploring a secluded cenote, and experiencing Mayan traditions firsthand. We especially love hearing that your daughter enjoyed meeting the animals at the sanctuary—those special moments often become the memories that last the longest. Santiago will be delighted to know that his knowledge, calm approach, and multilingual skills helped make such a strong impression throughout the journey. Knowing that the experience was worth every cent and became an unforgettable part of your travels is the highest compliment we could receive.
Great experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Tour guide could not have been friendlier or more well prepared. Everything went exactly as the itinerary suggested. Loved visiting the ruins and the primate preserve.
Hi David, What a pleasure to read your review—thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad the day lived up to your expectations and that everything ran smoothly according to plan. It’s wonderful to hear that your guide’s preparation and friendly approach helped make the tour even more enjoyable. The combination of exploring the ruins and visiting the primate preserve makes for a unique day, and we're happy those stops stood out to you. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope your travels bring you back to the Riviera Maya again soon!
Good driver and good enthusiastic guide. The guide could tell us a lot about the culture and history. It was a very nice and beautiful day. Thanks to the driver Axcel and to the guide Marco.
A beautiful experience with the guide Gustavo from Blue Caribe, who accompanied us throughout the tour, on the forest trails to the Maya ruins of Coba, passionately sharing the history of the site, then at the hacienda of the Maya family where we tasted their delicious tortillas and the local honey from the Melipona bee, and in the deep and spectacular cenote right in front. Finally, a tasty lunch at the restaurant facing the Coba lagoon.
This was our second trip with Mexico Kan Tours during our holiday in Tulum and they really are excellent. We love smaller groups of around six people as you get a more personal experience and usually reach the sights before the big coach tours. Our guide Paloma and driver Arelio were brilliant from start to finish. Communication about pickup was spot on and there was iced water in the van to refill bottles. Take a reusable bottle, sun cream, hat and bug spray. Cobá was a highlight. It is a large site in the jungle and you can choose to cycle or take a so called limousine. I cycled while my wife took the easier option. If you choose the limousine, remember to tip your driver. Cobá felt more like a community than Chichén Itzá and you can even climb one of the structures using the new wooden steps. It is a 42 metre climb so take your time. We then headed deeper into the jungle to meet a local wildlife guide. We were lucky to see a family of spider monkeys feeding as we arrived which was really special. Before walking into the jungle we were blessed by the village head which added to the experience. After a short walk we reached the lagoon for a gentle zip line and a canoe paddle. The views were stunning. A quick stop for local gifts followed before we visited a community owned cenote. We had it completely to ourselves. The wildlife, birds and butterflies were beautiful and there were turtles in the water that dive as soon as you get in. To finish the day we visited a local home for fresh home made food and lemonade which was a lovely touch. A brilliant day and the highlight of our holiday. Highly recommended. Thank you Paloma and Arelio.
What an absolute pleasure to read your review! We're honored that this experience was the highlight of your holiday. Cobá, Punta Laguna, the community cenote, and the traditional meal all offer a different perspective on the region, and we're delighted that you enjoyed each part of the journey. Thank you as well for recognizing Paloma and Aurelio's work—they truly care about creating meaningful and memorable experiences for our guests. We hope your wonderful memories of the jungle, wildlife, and local communities stay with you for a long time.
Very beautiful immersive experience with Maya culture and history! The day started with a bike ride through the Maya ruins, then we went to Punta Laguna where we saw a Maya ritual, went zip-lining, and canoeing. It was great! We ended the day by refreshing ourselves in a beautiful cenote with turtles, fish, and bats; it was wonderful. And a typical meal at a small Mayan farm Excellent day with Paloma, a wonderful guide who provided us with plenty of information🌞
