In line with traditional balloon flights, our Classic Air Balloon Flight offers guests the serene beauty of floating gently over the Cradle of Humankind or the Magaliesberg, while sipping on champagne, as the pilot allows the hot air balloon at times to drift at tree top height and at other times will ascend into the skies, offering guests a panoramic view of the beautiful African landscape below.

Pilot Jappie was an absolute gem and it was a pleasure to be " Flawn" by him. He explained things so thoroughly and made it so fun to learn about the technicalities of air balloon flying, muldersdrift surround areas and the animals. It was an absolute magical experience

What a phenomenal experience we had with Airventures. The morning started with a hot coffee at Kloofsight meeting point followed by a very informative briefing. Then the magic happened... we got to watch as the balloon inflated with the sunrise behind. The trip was nothing short of spectacular. Watching the sunrise while floating across the beautiful countryside. We saw Zebra, Giraffe and buck and plenty of stunning scenery. Our pilot was excellent. When we landed we got treated to a glass of bubbly and a tale of the history of Hot Air Ballooning followed by a scrumptious breakfast. Thank you team for a wonderful family adventure.
We had never been up in a balloon and this was a marvelous experience. The only negative was the unexplained long wait between the time we were asked to be ready and when we finally left for the balloon site. Everything else went like clockwork. We watched as the balloon was filled then were helped aboard and took off, gliding over a game preserve, watching the sun come up and the land and animals below us. There were no sounds and I felt like I was a bird looking down on the world, and it was so peaceful and serene. When it was time to land we were warned it could be very bumpy and were given safety instructions, but we barely felt the bump. Amid cheers we were helped out and were offered a glass of champagne, orange juice or a mimosa to celebrate. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend AirVentures to others looking for a different way to experience South Africa in the Johannesburg/Pretoria area.
This was an amazing experience. We travelled to South Africa for a safari and for this balloon ride. We spent four days on the safari and four hours on the ballon ride. We will talk about them both equally when we return home. One of the balloons had a small rip so we were delayed an hour while the staff procured an another ballon. The pilots did not hide during the delay but spent time with us to explain their passion and to show us the ballon operation up and close. Our pilot was Marc and he was a perfect mixture of talented, humble, kind and funny. We met four of the pilots in total and they all were great. My wife has a serious fear of heights, and while she could not look straight down over the basket, she really enjoyed the experience and would suggest that others with this same fear give it a go. The views were amazing and we saw wild game in the park as we flaoted by. You get to watch them inflate the balloons to get ready, and since we got replacement balloons we saw the whole process from scratch. We wish they had merchandise for sale to help us remember the trip. They had cool hats themselves, but they were not for sale. They are missing an opportunity here as we would serve as walking advertisements while we finish our South African trip. We would love to this again back home, and if we go ballooning there, this experience will serve as stiff competition!
This was my second hot air balloon ride. It was absolutely incredible. Our pilot,Te, was phenomenal. Very informative. Really knew the area. Was able to point out many different wildlife during our flight.
