Amazing. Incredible feat of ingenuity. Opened in 2021. Its the first of its kind in the world with 5 rotating 360 degree rings. The height and depth of it is incredible too. Although didn't understand a word of the performance as fully in Chinese, thoroughly enjoyed the experience of it all. Highly recommend it.

As you can read everywhere, the staging and theatre are something you’ve never seen before. I also have to mention that the staff was very helpful and kind. But, the actual musical was quite a poor experience. No music is live, the actors are lipsyncing to a pre-recorded background track, and the acting was some of the worst I’ve seen on a professional stage. There were live-translation headphones available in English but the sound quality was so bad that I couldn’t hear the translation and ended up taking it out. It’s absolutely worth a visit for the actual staging, but if you’re expecting a Chinese musical theatre you’ll be disappointed.
This production is not your usual sort where audience sits on rows of seats while the performers are on the stage. If you book Class A/B seats, your seats will also rotate around the theatre with the stage so you get a 360 deg view of the show at all time. Given it is 30 mins away from city centre, I will suggest to combine the show with a trip to Ciqikou ancient town which is right next to the theatre.
Even though I didn’t understand a word but it is must stop if you are visiting Chongqing. I was just too amazing . It carries the history from 1949.
As a Californian, I was so amazed not just from the visual performance, but the story as well. The stage and all of the mechanics is world class spectacular. Yes we needed a translator head piece, but still was able to follow all. Great show...
Most interesting and fabulous musical presentation on the massacre of Chongqing in 1949. The stage, sets and production - one of its kind! Not forgetting the great cast! It’s a show of superlatives that should be seen by all visitors to Chongqing! Most highly recommended.
