Pass by

The Art Institute of Chicago, home to a collection of art that spans centuries and the globe—and one of Tripadvisor’s “Best of the Best” US attractions of 2024

Grant Park is a large urban park in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois. Located within the city's central business district, the 319-acre (1.29 km2) park's features include Millennium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum Campus.

Pass by

Buckingham Fountain is a Chicago Landmark in the center of Grant Park, between Queen's Landing and the end of Ida B. Wells Drive. Dedicated in 1927 and donated to the city by philanthropist Kate S. Buckingham, it is one of the largest fountains in the world. Built in a rococo wedding cake style and inspired by the Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles, its design allegorically represents nearby Lake Michigan.

Pass by

The Chicago Lakefront Trail (LFT[1]) is a 18.5-mile-long (29.8 km)[2] partial shared-use path for walking, jogging, skateboarding, and cycling, located along the western shore of Lake Michigan in Chicago, Illinois. The trail passes through and connects Chicago's four major lakefront parks along with various beaches and recreational amenities. It also serves as a route for bicycle, skateboard and personal transporter commuters.

Pass by

The Chicago skyline, particularly from the shores of Lake Michigan near the Adler Planetarium, offers a stunning view, with the city lights reflecting on the water on calm evenings. The Adler Planetarium also provides a unique perspective of the city and the night sky, with the Doane Observatory offering a close-up view of the universe

No Bike tour guides available!

Booked the tour, got the confirmation e-mail but when we arrived there were no bike guides available so did the Segway tour instead with Vincent which was fab. (See separate review). We did get given some “free” bikes to guide ourselves on after the Segway tour (which was a nice gesture and prevented a 1 star review) - but if you are considering a bike tour, having now done the Segway tour (as middle aged first timers) go for Segways instead. The bikes were decent but the Segway route is much more interesting.

Liars and tour guide was a no show

Paid for a 10a start, no one was there. When I saw someone approach and sit on the bikes parked next to office I ask if he worked there and he said “No”, 5min later while on the phone with TA trying to locate the tour guide this SAME man got up and opened the shop! So they are liars and the tour guide was a no show. I do not advise to use this rental. Go to Bob’s or go on the boat tour, you’ll have much better experience!

Not the Chicago Lincoln Park Bike Adventure

Don’t waste your time with this like I did. Turned up for the tour to be told the guide had a sudden family emergency so was cancelled at the last minute. Rearranged for the next day and guess what??? A different guide had an emergency so was cancelled again !!

Must do!

Me and my sister decided to try a bike tour of the city and we are so glad we picked this one. Katey, our tour guide was awesome. She was super knowledgeable and friendly. We got to experience riding by the lake, hear about Chicago’s history, and see some lovely neighborhoods. We had a great time and I would highly recommend!

Fun Rainy Day Tour

We had an amazing adventure with Jay of Bike and Roll Chicago. It was a rainy day, but that did not stop Jay from leading us around Lincoln Park and Chicago beaches with interesting stories about the city's history. It was a great time, and we loved having the beaches and bike paths to ourselves!

Excellent Segway Tour

Had a great time on the Bike and Roll Segway Tour of the Lakefront. Matt was the tour guide and he did a great job. Really enjoyed seeing Millennium Park, Solider Field, The Bean, the Planetarium, the Crown Fountain. Matt is very knowledgeable about the area. Very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.

Moderate level of activity, good trails, recreational. Hard to maneuver around crowds, suggest to take the earlier tours as crowds get thicker as the day passes specially on the popular spots

Our tour guide called in sick but we were offered all day bike hire instead. Bike paths are easy to follow so not only did we get right up the waterfront past Lincoln park but we visited zoo and then went back down through millennium and grant parks to visit aquarium. Really good day 6 hours of easy biking.
