Great day with guide Alexandro as we cycled over 40 km in and then out of Florence to the surrounding hills. Guide was knowledgeable and helpful as we enjoyed a great lunch and wine tour. We even had a glass of wine and cold fruit to end the day at a restaurant back in town. Great value for money. Not for the weak of heart, even with the e-bikes, especially on a blistering hot day.
One of the tour stops turned into a private home and we got yelled at and ran out of the place. We also did not receive our lunch or two drinks. It wasn’t what we expected at all.
Our tour guide Andrea was a kind and spectacular tour guide! He was so attentive and caring, he was very accommodating to us during the tour. The tour was beautiful and so fun! All thanks to wonderful Andrea!
Wonderful excursion to see the countryside and taste local food and wine! Great guide and fellow travelers
Beautiful countryside, wonderful wine, a strong e-bike and an outstanding guide. It was a good pace.
I feel bad leaving this review because our guide was nice but this is a honest review of our tour. It felt very unsafe the whole time. Our guide wove through busy city traffic and did not wait for the group. The only reason half our group didn’t get lost multiple times was because one of the other group members noticed the guide wasn’t waiting and stayed back to help the others find their way. We traveled on busy, narrow, dangerous roads the entire way to the wine tasting. The bikes were in poor condition and every single group member was covered in oil on the back of their legs that was VERY hard to get off and one bike had so many issues that the guide had to ride it instead, making that person use the guides bike which seemed heavier than the rest of the bikes because of the bags hanging on it to hold one bottle of water for each member of the group. The bikes didn’t have baskets, water bottle holders or anything so it was hard to bring your own source of water, sunscreen, or belongs, which were all extremely necessary due to the intense heat. Thankfully when one of the bikes broke the same group member who waited for the others, was also able to fix the bike, with out that person we would have been stuck waiting for the company to come replace, or fix the bike. The guide did not know how to fix it. Multiple people in the group fell or crashed because of how uneasy the road conditions were, leading to cut legs and arms. We left the tour early before the last wine tasting stop because we were so anxious about our safety and exhausted. I will say, the winery we stopped at for lunch was great and simple food. Very needed by the time we arrived, although others in the group were underwhelmed by the amount of effort put into the food. It was toasted bread with their home grown olive oil, a few meats, pasta, and a tart bar for dessert.
Our guide made the tour so great! He was patient and fun
We absolutely loved our e-bike tour! I’m writing this a month later, so I can’t recall our tour guide’s name, but he was wonderful; friendly and very knowledgeable with historical information. We took a route up into the Chianti Hills above Florence, through back roads and scented countryside. Stunning views, two wine tastings, one with lunch and one down in the city with snacks. This was one of the highlights of our month long trip to Italy. I would highly recommend it, if you enjoy biking, good food and wine, and exploring the region.
Fun, yet challenging day on our bike tour with Fred. The e bikes are great, uphill is still a bit of a workout so don’t think it’s all easy riding. We had some great viewpoints of both Florence city and the Tuscan countryside. Lunch and wine tasting at the farm winery were lovely. End the day with another tasting and snack back in Florence which we also really enjoyed. Fred was a great and knowledgeable guide. Overall a really nice way to spend a day in Florence
Fred was our guide. He did a great job. Good explanation of the various stops. Especially his legends were beautiful. The bikes were good. As well as lunch and wine tastings. Had a very nice day.
