Cathe is a local for 20 years and knows all the food shop owners and details of the parisian architecture and history. In our private venue, a tiny parisian restaurant, you will experience a funny and serious moment of french wines and cheeses tasting around a real french table and exchange arround all the french gastronomy and way of life. Chef Alex knows all about french cuisine and french art de vivre.

The meeting point is We meet everybody a the Censier-Daubenton métro station segond exit. (line 7 pink) If you come walking, by bike or with a taxi the meeting point adress is in front of the 98 rue Monge or next to the Mejane Café.. Hotel pickup is not part of this experience.

Unfortunately, the experience was canceled without prior notice and we found out upon arriving at the meeting point. Although Alex responded to us quickly and we understand that there may be reasons beyond his control, almost two weeks after the cancellation we are still waiting for the refund of the amount paid. A shame, because we had high expectations for the experience.
It was easy to find the meeting spot. I enjoyed the tour of the local market. It gave you a chance to get a feel for the area. Chef Alex is passionate about food. He is extremely knowledgeable about both cheese and wine. He offered ways to taste cheese that you wouldn’t have considered ( salt and pepper). The cheese and wine were delicious. Chef Alex is friendly and makes you feel welcome in his restaurant. Highly recommend!!!!

Loved this tour with Chef Alex and the small fun group that gathered from around the world. We enjoyed learning about French food and culture and were all surprised to find something new to eat (and enjoy) that we had never tried before. What a great way to spend an afternoon in Paris! Merci!
I was disappointed with this wine and cheese tasting experience and did not feel it delivered value for the price. The wine selections were served very sparingly, and there was little to no explanation about the wines themselves—their origins, tasting notes, pairings, or what made them unique. For a guided tasting, I expected much more education and engagement. The cheese portions were also extremely limited, making it difficult to properly enjoy or compare the pairings. The advertised market visit was particularly underwhelming, consisting of little more than a single strawberry and a piece of chocolate, which felt more like a token stop than a meaningful experience. While Chef Alex was pleasant, the presentation remained fairly surface-level and never went beyond basic information. There was little storytelling, expertise, or effort to create a memorable culinary experience. Overall, the event fell short of expectations and was not worth the investment. I left feeling that the experience lacked both substance and value compared to other wine and food tastings I have attended.
Explanations were good and well-founded, cheese and wine were described very well, and we were introduced to the French way of life.
