Tour guide was very sensitive to the fact that there were multiple younger kids. It was a good tour but we were disappointed that we didn't get to go inside any graveyards. We've done a tour before and they took us in the Circular Church graveyard. He mentioned about it not being allowed but there was a different group out and our guide didn't notice but this group went in through one of the front gates. I guess you have to have special entrance. Not sure. Anyway, overall it was a good time. There were bad thunderstorms around but they stayed on the edge of the city and we just got sprinkled on and that was it. Was so glad because we didn't have another night there. We liked this tour as it was infiltrated with historical facts as well.
Fascinating, enjoyable tour that would be great for families with slightly older kids! A family member and I went on this tour together and had a wonderful time. Our guide, Kit, was a delight: knowledgeable, funny, and an excellent storyteller. I grew up in the area, and Kit had tales to tell that were new to me, which I LOVED! The stories on the tour are just the right level of spooky to be enjoyable for a pretty broad age range. No spoilers here, but I feel like this tour would be a hit with most folks about ten and up. I look forward to checking out further tours in the future!
Our tour guide, Ms. Ravenel, was very professional and knowledgeable. I love how she was very aware of our kids and told stories in a way that was fun but not too scary. I also appreciate how punctual she was with the start time of the tour. She took us to great locations. Would definitely recommend!
very fun and interesting and spooky Ashley was a very fun tour guide and told lots about the history which was very interesting
We truly enjoyed this ghost tour in Charleston,. We went to many sites and heard lots of interesting stories. Our guide was a descendent of one of the wealthiest families and they immigrated over in the mid 1600s. It was great to hear her perspective and one of her family stories. She was super sweet and went above and beyond to answer our questions and even kept our tour running a little bit longer so she could explain even more. Thank you for a memorable evening!
Great experience! Our guide Micheal was amazing and even went over on time because we were having such a great time!
Guide not friendly and got mad at a 16 year old for not being totally amazed by his presentation. Argued with a 12 year old because she asked a clarifying question. We have done many CHS ghost tours and this one was the worst. Please consider a partial refund at least.
Michael was a great guide! The tour was fun and not too much of a walk for our 6 year old. Learning the history was fun.
Thank you for the great review! We’re so happy to hear Michael made the tour fun and manageable for your family — especially your 6-year-old. It’s wonderful to know everyone enjoyed learning the history together. We hope to see you again on another Ghost City Tours adventure! 👻✨
This particular tour is family friendly so some of the details will be sanitized for young ears. There are some good historical highlights around the city included however.
Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the historical highlights of the city. You’re absolutely right — our family-friendly tours are designed to keep things accessible for younger guests while still sharing engaging history and local lore. Our tour was okay, but not as expected.. the pace was good, and the stops were interesting, but i have to say that we were not very impressed with the guide this time….
