We will travel from downtown Mexico City to the first point, Chapultepec. Make yourself comfortable and pay attention to the itinerary instructions that your guide will give you.
This important site houses archaeological and anthropological evidence forged by multiple cultural groups over hundreds of years of history; it also pays homage to the indigenous peoples of Mexico today through a rich collection that rescues the uses, representations, expressions, knowledge and traditions that are the intangible heritage of the nation and a legacy that belongs to all humanity.
It is the largest park so far, and almost no one visits Mexico City without at least passing through it once. This is your chance to see everything inside. One of the largest urban parks in the Western Hemisphere, it is about 686 hectares. It is centered on the rock formation called Chapultepec Hill, which had become a refuge even for Aztec rulers. Later, during the colonial era, Chapultepec Castle took shape here, which served as the official residence of Mexican presidents until 1940. After that, the leaders went to another part of the park called Los Pinos, a whole story in itself.
The history of the Museum dates back to 1825, the year in which the first president of Mexico, Guadalupe Victoria, ordered the formation of the first National Museum. Its history continues on December 4, 1865, when Emperor Maximilian of Habsburg decreed the creation of the so-called Public Museum of Natural History, Archaeology and History, based in the old Mint. In 1867 this Museum was divided into four sections: Natural History, Antiquities, History and Art. By 1890, the History section already had five rooms, divided into: Franciscans, Viceroys, Cortés, Conquest and Independence.
