Cesky Krumlov Old Town Private Walking Tour

Cesky Krumlov is a bit the kind of place that catches you off guard. You arrive thinking you'll have a nice stopover, and you leave completely won over. The city winds around the Vltava River like a ribbon, with its orange roofs, its cobblestone alleys, and its perched castle that dominates the entire landscape. Naturally, it's hard not to look up every five minutes. The castle, immense, with its painted tower and its baroque theater still in working order, tells centuries of Bohemian history all on its own. And then there is this atmosphere, these terraces by the water, these small artisan shops, this impression that time stopped somewhere in the 17th century. A real breath of fresh air, between a stroll in the alleys, a gourmet break with a stunning view, and that very particular light that falls on the old town at the end of the day. If you are looking for a getaway that is off the beaten path, this one is clearly worth the detour. Cesky Krumlov, a discovery that stays in your mind long after you return. Choose your hotel better than I did!

Eszter is engaging and has a great sense of humor. We certainly would have missed out on a number of things if we hadn't taken this tour. We highly recommend booking Eszter well before your travel to Cesky Krumlov for a tour on the first or second day of your stay.

We had a fabulous morning walking around Cesky Krumlov with our guide, Eszter. She was amazingly interesting and shared lots of fun facts. She is obviously into art but didn't get too specific as she knew we were not really that way inclined. The really good thing was that we did the castle tour in the afternoon and we didn't feel like it was a double up on the facts at all. An added bonus was that Eszter gave us some postcards that she had illustrated herself of various buildings, building parts and views. She's very talented.
