Description

Our tours to Český Krumlov typically look like this. You will be picked up in Prague at your address that should be in a city centre. The drive in a van for max. 8 people usually takes 2 hours as CK is 175 km away from Prague. You can relax and enjoy views of our countryside on the way. We will park at the main car park and Filip, the guide, takes charge of the tour then. We will climb a short hill to the castle. You will be taken through all castle courtyards, you will learn many interesting stories and you will be shown best places for pictures. We will leave the castle going down to a river, crossing a bridge, where we can have a lunch in a medieval restaurant. After the lunch you will be given a free time to explore the Old Town. You can even leave before lunch to have it anywhere you wish. It is your free time. I will give you recommendations about what to see and about shopping places if you want. We will meet again at the car park in the end and we will go back to Prague.

Historical and informative.

Wonderful trip. She kept us informed since our hotel was not in Praha 1. The communication and text messages were a tremendous help. We were so tired from the day before, but our tour guide kept us totally engaged.

A small Medieval town...

A small Medieval town outside of Prague about two hours by van. Shops and restaurants mixed in with the historic buildings.

Wonderful day excursion

This town and castle were beautiful. It was a full day excursion and the timing was perfect. Ondrez (sp?) our guide taught us a lot about the culture and how things came to be. Enough time is allowed to shop and enjoy lunch. There is a slower vibe to the town and it was very enjoyable. We had a group of 7 in our van and had a very enjoyable ride time together.

Education of First Time Travelers from the USA

We enjoyed a marvelous outing with our guide, Jana (sp?), who enlightened us on myriad aspects of Czech history and national persona. She was so knowledgeable, thoughtful, and communicative, that our drive to and from Cesky Krumlov, were equally valuable for us in expanding our insights into the richness of Czech culture. My wife and I learned and gained a greater appreciation of historic and present day Czechia through the insights of Jana. A great way to spend a day traveling through the Czechia countryside, visiting the UNESCO sites of Jankov Holasovice and Cesky Krumlov. Great experience for anyone curious about aspects of rich Czech culture and history that we never learned in school.

The trip started off...

The trip started off great and ended great. Our driver, Honza was on time, friendly, informative and made the two hour trip to and fro very pleasant. Our tour guide, however, was more concerned about our exit location and where to specifically meet the van, than he was about providing information regarding the site itself. (A guide can make or break a trip.) After we left the castle we were led inside a jewelry store where we were encouraged to watch a short video about locally sourced garnets and their creations. That’s when we felt like the tour had now become a tourist trap. Our suspicions were confirmed when we were given 2 and half hours of free time to mill around the beautiful village of shops filled with Czech tchotchke and restaurants serving goulash and dumplings. All in all, it was worth going to, but we could have had the same experience by taking a bus, minus the tour guide, and doing it on our own at a fraction of the price.

Trip to Cesky Krumlov

Maja was our driver and Honsa was our tour guide. Honsa was very knowledgable and entertaining. He provided good information on the history of Czechia, the region and the castle. He also gave good tips for the self exploration of Cesky Krumlov.
