Terrible organization and terrible assistance from Viator
Terrible organization: Rosa, the guide, checked our attendance, told us to wait, and then left. Terrible assistance also from Viator, which refused to provide a refund, despite the evidence provided to support our version! Viator was a huge disappointment!

Terrible experience to AVOID
A disgrace; a certain Mrs. Rosa showed up at check-in and marked us as present. She told us to wait there at the meeting point while she went to pick up the other people. She never came back to get us, and through one of her colleagues who was there for another tour. We found out that she had already left with the bus from another place without notifying us, leaving us there waiting; I have no words.

Informative Tour
Picked up a local leaflet and found this tour.
Really useful being picked up and dropped off at our hotel.
We booked the day before so paid cash upon arrival.
Not too longer day, with plenty of toilet and drink stops.

Wine tasting was a good experience.
Caves and especially Melissani Underground Lake was stunning.
I enjoyed the Fiscardo visit best and will re-visit there.

Good trip
Great trip with a fantastic guide called Rosa.
Just 2 things to note- we waited 2 hours in the heat to go into the cave also the wine tasting isn’t a vine yard it’s in a shop at the end of the trip

Kefalonia Island Tour
I booked a trip from home before arriving on the beautiful island of Kefalonia.
I booked the Wine Tasting Cave visit yo Fiskardo and viewing Myrtos beach.
Was fully informed beforehand regarding pick up time from hotel.
I was doing the trip solo but met some lovely people especially the family from Sydney sat behind me on the coach.
We set off and I can honestly say it was the best decision I made booking.
First of all I want to say a huge thank yiu to Maria out host. She explained everywhere we went whilst keeping to the itinerary for the day.
Her knowledge of the island was unbelievable. It was so interesting and her facts all about each place we visited was nothing short of amazing.
I don't normally book but this was the highlight of my holiday. I would not been able to visit all these wonderful places. I want to also say a huge thank you to the bus driver. It is quiet a journey up on these mountain roads (which at times are not for the faint hearted) but the views are breathtaking. He drove so safely over the 9 hours. A massive thank you.
I hope to return to Kefalonia and day but would not hesitate to recommend this trip.
Will be a memory I will never forget.

DO NOT BOOK THIS TOUR IF YOU’RE ON A CRUISE SHIP
The ending of this tour was extremely stressful and poorly planned from a cruise passenger’s perspective.
The tour explicitly states that the drop-off point is the Cruise Terminal Port, where cruise passengers are supposed to be returned. The tour guide (Rosa) initially assured us that we would be back in time for the ship’s 3:30 p.m. embarkation deadline. At approximately 3 p.m., we specifically asked whether there was still enough time for the wine tasting and to return to the ship on time. We were reassured that there was. If there was not enough time to complete the wine tasting and return us safely by bus, we should not have been given that reassurance.
At approximately 3:15 p.m., we asked when we would be taken back to the port. We were then told that we could either walk back to the ship or continue on the bus, which still had another stop to make before dropping us off. Taking the bus would have meant arriving too late for the ship's departure. All of the cruise passengers had to rush approximately 900 metres back to the ship on foot in 33°C heat.
Why would any passenger choose to walk almost 1 km in 33°C heat if they were confident that the tour bus would return them to the port on time? The fact that all of the cruise passengers chose to walk back speaks for itself: we clearly did not have confidence that following Rosa and taking the bus would get us back to the ship before the deadline.
This was particularly distressing for our family because my mother has health issues and difficulty running. My father had to carry her for part of the way because we were desperately trying to make it back to the ship before boarding closed.
The biggest issue was poor time management. The tour was not planned well for cruise passengers, and the promised return to the Cruise Terminal Port should have been arranged with sufficient time for all passengers to get back safely by the tour’s transportation.
If you are visiting Argostoli on a cruise ship, I do not recommend this tour. The risk and stress caused by the poor planning and insufficient time to return to the ship are simply not worth it.

This excursion is designed exclusively for cruise ship passengers. Missing the ship would not only be unacceptable for our guests, but it would also mean we had completely failed in the purpose of the tour. As the facts show, you—and every other passenger on the excursion—returned to the ship on time.
While your review suggests you were left with the choice of missing the ship, the reality is that you made it back safely, just like everyone else. The optional walk back to the port was offered simply because the ship was already within a short walking distance—not because guests were in danger of being left behind.
We understand that some travelers become anxious when keeping an eye on the clock, but describing our guide as "irresponsible" is unfair and inaccurate. Rosalia followed the planned itinerary, monitored the schedule throughout the tour, and ensured that every guest returned to the ship before departure—as this excursion has been designed to do.
