Great experience. Our guide knew a lot about every body's camera which helped. Exercises were useful. Guide did a great job checking everyone's images and telling us what to do next to make it even better. Highly recommend.
Zim is an excellent photography instructor with a very pleasant manner. She introduced me to camera features I didn't know and gave very helpful advice about composition. The locale around the Bethesda Fountain is perfect for the workshop.
The tour was centered on compositional techniques of photography- it wasn’t a tour of Central Park, which I was happy about. Our guide was knowledgeable, personable and engaged each person, giving everyone consistent feedback. I enjoyed it very much.
spent a morning with Zim in Central Park, she was great! Extremely informative and insightful. Her experience is invaluable. She shared many tips and proven methods that changed my approach to compositions forever. Highly recommended!
I’m new to photography but the NYC Photo Safari made learning with just my iPhone easy and fun. I was a little nervous because I didn’t have any expensive equipment, but Bruce made me feel at ease and comfortable. The tour of Central Park was beautiful. He gave simple explanations and hands-on guidance to make sure that I was picking up on the concepts they were explaining. It was a nice pace and the small group made it feel personal. I would highly recommend for anyone who is interested in looking at NYC from a different angle whether you’ve been here 50 times or just a few. Very fun afternoon and will be joining another group.
Had a great time with this photographer. She provided her professional experience to address many things typically not normally considered in shot selection, lens distance from subject, photographic depth of field issues with telephoto lens. We found her assistance and technique discussions incredibly helpful that was used on an October workshop in Italy. She was knowledgeable about mirrorless cameras and made adjustments on the fly that are still be used today. I would recommend this photographer for anyone who wants to learn more about the craft.
This was one of the best photography instruction experiences I’ve had. Zim is incredibly knowledgeable—not only in shooting techniques, but also in equipment—and she patiently helped me work through technical challenges I was struggling with. Highly recommend if you’re in NYC.
My wife and I had an amazing Central Park Photo Safari experience! Zim was fun and interesting, and helped us to learn so much in the time that we had. We learned how to make the most of both our dedicated camera and phone cameras to compose great shots. It was an amazing and unique way to explore part of Central Park!
I took five different photo safaris on this trip - 4 were with Zim (WTC, Central Park, Iconic NY 1, Iconic NY 2) and one was with David (Brooklyn Bridge). I enjoyed working with both of them - David was easy to talk with and gave me a lot of insight into living in NYC. He also has a good eye for noting interesting light. Zim excels at explaining photo concepts at the level of the photographer - one person there was an absolute beginner, while I'm more advanced. She did a great job differentiating the instruction so both of us were challenged and learned. She is also very picky and "compassionately direct" in her critiques of photos. I never felt like I had done something wrong; instead, I thought I could learn to critically look and improve.
What a great time! We learned so much about our cell phone cameras. We learned about angles, depth, timers, and the best way to take selfies. I've deleted tons of selfies in the past...no more! The setting in Central Park was perfect.
