There was some confusion on the pick up point with the person who checked us in. We had to walk up and down the street until the bus driver arrived at the curb which was not a pick up area. The drive along the coast was beautiful. Once we arrived we had detailed instructions by the Lead Supervisor of the dues and don't at the caves. It was very hot and humid and the caves were worse. There were mosquitos but the business provided repellant. The caves were very interesting. We saw bats which were very cool. "DA BAD Boy" tour guide was funny and very friendly. He took us threw some short cuts because there were a lot of groups.
My family and I did the "Dusk to Dark Evening Bat Tour" which was a really unique and cool experience. They run this tour twice a week. We did a Friday evening. It included tours of two caves and ended with the bat cave where many fruit bats live, hang and fly around. The caves are very pretty and the bats were impressive. The tour ended with a candle-lit (tiki torches all over) dinner in the forest / jungle, which was surprisingly delicious! Most of us ordered the mahi entree, which was outstanding. The chef did a fantastic job on the food and presentation - better than some restaurant meals. We had delicious rum punches, salad, the meal, and dessert. It was a neat experience that I would definitely recommend! I wore light pants as there are mosquitoes in the jungle, but they also offer bug repellant throughout. But for me light pants / sleeves kept the bugs away. The staff and guides are incredibly friendly, and this was a neat thing to do in Cayman to balance out all the water sports.
Definitely worth touring caves, our guide Devin was great super knowledgeable about caves and island ,knew all about plants trees as well
My family and friends visited the Crystal Caves yesterday and were very lucky to get in. We arrived at about 4, which is their closing time. My dad asked if there were any tours still available, which we expected to receive “no” for an answer. Instead the staff kindly stayed late and permitted us to the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable. I regret to say I can’t recall his name but he did a fantastic job of showing us around the caves and explaining their history and was very kind. The caves were beautiful. I visited once before and the second time around was just as beautiful. Thank you to the staff of Crystal Caves!
This was a great experience. I enjoyed the tour from start to finish. The introduction and history from Archie was very informative and our tour guide to the three caves we saw was very helpful and friendly. The Treehouse was a beautiful structure in the woods and perfect rest spot. Local fee was not bad for entry. The tour lasted 1.5 hours and was well worth it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a different type of island experience and want to see local wildlife and greenery.
Interesting along with beautiful, if you like caves and nature. Learned a little history about the island and what vegetation not to touch. Our guide, Justin Miller, was the best.
Once you get over Archie’s drama at the introduction, it was a great tour. The guide was very knowledgeable personally and the caves very interesting. 90 minutes is perfect for the 3 caves. And do bring water and go early.
