Itinerary
Your guide will send you a message the day before to organize the pickup (a nearby location will be sent if the hotel is in a challenging parking spot). The ride to the first winery is an hour long, starting from Barcelona, and the pickup is usually at 9 am. But this might vary depending on other pickups and the tour program.
We will start the tour with a visit to Artcava Winery. A small winery located in an old Catalan farmhouse. Where you will learn the elaboration of cava in Penedés, and you will get to taste 3 of their main wine and cavas.
The second stop will be at only 5 minutes from the first winery. There, you will visit a 5 century-old cellar. Owned by 2 brother & sister part of the same family since the 1800's. Here you will have a wine pairing of 3 different cavas and still wines and local food. At the beautiful garden over looking the vineyards of the winery. The lunch includes local products such as Spanish Omelette, Catalan bread and tomato, Virgin Olive Oil, local cheese and cold meat...
Vins el Cep is a beautiful winery surrounded by nature. Its peaceful environment is perfect for a relaxing cava tasting. Here, we will taste a Pet-nat and a Cava Gran Reserva.
Finally, the drop-off will be done in Barcelona at around 4 pm. Please note that this program might change depending on the wineries availability.

An excellent Cava tour and good value. Joan was exceptional; very knowledgeable, positive and a good communicator. You will have plenty to eat and drink. Sergio, the host at our first stop was also great.
This tour was fantastic! It was informative and entertaining. The tour guide and each of the people we met working at each winery were so friendly, welcoming and fun to spend the day with. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Barcelona !
Outstanding experience! Our tour guide Ariadna was knowledgeable, fun, and super freindly. Really made the day great. The 3 vinyards we visited also provided a wonderful learning experience and each was unique in size and products. I have taken many wine tours around the world and this was as good as any I have done. Highly recommended!
Great day with Joan. His expertise is outstanding and if you just want a nice day, with good cava and authentic wineries also possible. You pick. 😊
We had an amazing tour with Wino Tours. Joan, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the cava-making process. We learned a lot and drank a variety of excellent small vineyard cavas. Highly recommend it if you’re visiting Barcelona and have a full day to explore the Penedés wine country!
Visiting three family-owned wineries gave us a much more authentic experience than we expected. Every stop was unique, but what really made the day special was our guide, Joan. Joan is educated in winemaking and shared his knowledge with genuine enthusiasm—never making it feel like a lecture. He answered every question honestly and created a relaxed atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable. Our group included people from Denmark, London and New Jersey, yet by the end of the day it felt like we had all spent the day with friends. The tour started with a fascinating guided visit around ArtCava, where we learned about the traditional cava-making process from grape to bottle. The cava tastings were outstanding and among the best we had during our stay in Spain. At every winery, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality by the owners and staff, making the experience feel personal rather than commercial. We then enjoyed a delicious lunch beneath the trees at Giro del Gorner, followed by another excellent tasting at Vins El Cep. The transport was comfortable, the schedule was well paced, and everything was thoughtfully organized from hotel pickup to the return journey. If you're looking for an authentic wine and cava experience with family-owned wineries, beautiful surroundings, warm hospitality, and an exceptionally knowledgeable guide, I would happily book this tour again.
Thank you very much for your review. We appreciate that you outlined the service offered by our local guide and Sommelier, Joan. We hope you can enjoy one of our other wine toyrs in the future. Best regards, Ivan
We had a private tour for 7 people. The villa pick up & drop off went without a hitch. Joan was the perfect host, very knowledgeable, polite, he kept the whole tour flowing. The 3 vineyards visited were quite different. We all agreed the first ArtCava was our favourite, Santiago was also the perfect host, knowledgeable, extremely enthusiastic, very passionate about the history of both the area and Cava production. We enjoyed a relaxing lunch in the sunshine with beautiful views. All in all we had the perfect day. 10/10 would highly recommend.
We enjoyed our guided tour and cava tastings. We appreciate touring smaller craft wineries and the intimate experience given to us. Tour guides were very knowledge about the the region, the history and what makes a good cava. We highly recommend this experience to others.
Very easy to book. Communication was clear and timely via What's App and email. The tour guide Joan was extremely knowledgable and gave us great details about the process of making Cava and how it is different from other wines. We had a wonderful relaxed day enjoying good wine, the beautiful catalan countryside and locally made cheese and sausage for lunch. Would definitely come again and highly recommend.
Thank you very much for your great review and pictures!
Joan is an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable about wine and Catalonia. Fluent English. Great relationships with the people at the wineries. The three wineries (Art Cava, Giro del Gorner, Vins el Cep) included a range of Cavas and some still wines with lunch at Giro del Gorner. Lunch was excellent. In summary it felt like an authentic experience of the region.
